Day 7 Favorite Band/Duo &New Band/Duo

Favorite Band: Well this is an easy one... Rascal Flatts hands down! Not only are they another part of the reason I started listening to country, but also their Melt album was the first country album I ever bought (my hard earned babysitting and tutoring money original.gif ). I've seen them 4 times and would go and see them every summer if I could. Their music, even though it sometimes rips my heart out, is amazing. Don't even get me started on Changed. I had chills after the first few words. I also remember listening the Opry the night Vince Gill surprised them and asked them to be members. My brother probably thought I was crazy because I was smiling like an idiot. wub.gif

Favorite New Band/Duo: This one is a little harder.

Love and Theft: I absolutely love them! I started listening to them when they were a trio and always thought they deserved more recognition. Seeing them now I couldn't be more proud, especially considering what they went through prior to their recent success.

Kingston (formally known as the Carter Twins): They are super talented and seem like such sweet guys! They definitely deserve to have a lot more recognition than they have now. Their harmonies are awesome and they write all their own music. Plus their fan base is one of the nicest, if not the nicest I have ever been a part of.

Florida Georgia Line is pretty cool too original.gif

I have always had a "bubblegum" taste when it comes to bands/groups outside of Country. So I got to divide this out.

Older Country: Alabama
Newer Country: ZBB and Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts thumbsup.gif If I asked myself this question about 11 or 12 years ago I would have totally put NSYNC or even the Backstreet Boys. I will always have a special place in my heart for them. I actually watched Glee for the first time in forever, because I saw in a preview that they were doing NSYNC, and then to my surprise it was a mash up between NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys! I completley fangirled! To the point that I might buy it off iTunes.

This one is really hard - I can't think of too many bands from my young days - I did like the Beetles. Then I don't think I noticed anyone until Alabama - so many good songs. So Alabama for the old one.

For the new one I would have to say the Band Perry. Kimberly has a great sound and the songs tell such a story. I love the one where she sings something about her father and a piece of wire.
