I know Adam has tweeted about Chokehold for the movie, and I agree that it's a good choice. However, I also think Underneath would be perfect for it. Think of it as Christian's theme (while Chokehold is more Ana's, in my mind.) For me, the underlying pain and insecurity that Christian feels, the "standing here with no apologies", the "beautiful release" he feels when Ana sees all parts of the "underneath" Christian and still loves him....every lyric in that song can be applied to Christian. Underneath is the perfect 50 Shades of Grey song!
Actually, there are several Adam songs that work. I can see Fever being part of the movie, also. That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure we can come up with more if we think about it. Hey, E.L.James and 50 Shades producers, how about an Adam Lambert soundtrack for the movie(s)? (Ok, you can mix it in with the music mentioned in the book. ) And you absolutely have to have Underneath in there!!! So...what say you all? -------------------- |

Chokehold is good, especially for Ana, and probably IS better for the first book. I guess I was thinking more of the trilogy as a whole. For that, I still think Underneath is perfect as Christian's theme. In thinking about it, you don't really see enough of Christian's psyche in the first book to see the parallels. Bottom line, however, is that Adam has at least 2 songs that would work for the movie.

Is this really a good book worth reading, or just a bunch of semi-porno $hit? I wasn't impressed with the prose of the snippet Adam was asked to read, and I understand a lot of it reads like that.

I read the whole trilogy when it was still a fanfic, a work in progress and the characters' names were Edward and Bella. I've seen a lot of critique towards the writing and the plot but I found the story entertaining -------------------- ![]() - Signature created by ♥JM♥ |

I haven't read it, but all my friends who are readers that read it said the writing is weak, as is the plot. But I know many people who enjoyed it, but they mostly just talk about the naughty bits. -------------------- |

I have a lot of problems with it, but i enjoyed it as a whole. I read them for Christian's character development, Ana really annoyed me.
As for the songs, i think Chokehold rather than Underneath would be better. -------------------- |

You're probably better off not reading it. I agree with puska-baby - continued to read it to see why Christian is the way he is, and Ana seriously annoyed me. I liked it more than I thought I would, but the writing leaves a lot to be desired. And now we better get back on topic before we get yelled at. I started this topic thinkng about the song aspect, but it also occurs to me that it could refer to the many aspects of Adam's personality. 50 Shades of Grey refers to the many sides of the main character in the book. Well, we all know Adam has many sides - and we love all of them! Sexy, sweet, sexy, intelligent, sexy, playful, sexy, fierce, sexy, thoughtful, sexy, vulnerable, sexy, serious, sexy, .....the list goes on. 50 Shades of Adam! -------------------- |

I am probably in the minority. I hated the book. It was VERY poorly written and not realistic in my view. I can enjoy the occasional love story, but to me it was not really about the S/D relationship - although it was the type portrayed, but was one of those "love can cure anything" books in the end and I just didn't buy it. Maybe if there had actually been realistic character development, but it was cliched to me. The "naughty bits" didn't do it for me and certainly did not overcome the extremely poor writing. I kept reading hoping the book would get better, but alas........

I also share the opinion that Undern'eath is the perfect song for Christian. It really touches on the inner torment that's going on inside him. For Anastasia...definitely Chokehold. Well I made a BIG mistake and bought the audiobook. The perky narrator-girl is extremely irritating and spoils all the hot scenes big time - and everything else between them, actually. So do NOT buy the audiobook. And the sk plot... teenagers may find it credible. Christian Grey would never in a million years fall in love with an idiot like Ana Steele -------------------- |

I know that all of Adam's songs on Trespassing are personal, but Underneath seems extra personal and heartfelt to me . . . just my humble opinion . . . I don't think I would want them to use that one . . .
