Hi my name is Lewis, I got into sytycd through random youtube videos between usa season 7 and 8 and have been religiously watching ever since. I've also started watching the old seasons, I'm on 3 just now and as I'm typing I am looking for links to the Australian version as I have heard nothing but good things!

I would love for people to get involved in any redos or lists I post and voice their opinions as that's what I came here for!
So please comment away and introduce yourself to me

SYTYCD Season 8 Redo:

How I'm doing it:

Every week the decisions will be made purely on what we have already seen i.e. top 16 will take into account everything from top 20,18 and 16 weeks including solos, but nothing from top 14 onwards
I value solos quite a lot so expect a good solo and a bad routine to stay over an okay solo and an okay routine

Top 20

I like Miranda and Ricky. But being the one Robert fan, I would have kept him over Chris. Easily. Just based on potential to do better in partner routines.

I pretty much agree with your Top 20 week. The Missy/Wadi jazz was amazing. Ryan sucked every week, and while I thought Robert was a good dancer, that solo was pretty tragic. Good eliminations.

Be as it may that Alexander made their two routines as forgettable as they were ,I think Missy and Wadi deserve a second chance after good solos and Sasha didn't impress my with her solo (neither did Melanie tbh but shes done two better routines!)

To be honest when I was rewatching routines/solos for this, I only made it about ten seconds into it. Just painful!

I'm loving this redo so far.

Like with Sasha, I fell Mitchell dragged Caitlynn down a bit (i.e. if Caitlynn had danced with Robert in week one as in real life, it would have top 3'd, with Mitchell I can't imagine it being half as good) so she was safe and there is no way in hell Miranda is leaving after that solo!
Ricky and Chris are in my opinion, the best male soloists of the season and that coupled with Mitchell never really standing out against Caitlynn means he's being shown the door

Because Ricky was partnered with Miranda I gave them the Broadway because Ricky already had a Lyrical (Hiphop) routine where as Nick & Iveta hadn't yet! I'm putting too much thought into this

I loved the 3 jazz girls this season, and Missy was so beyond robbed as the ballroom solo proves and Jordan has performed more consistently than Miranda so Miranda gets cut (also Miranda solos anywhere online )

Ricky is safe because of only bottom 3ing due to terrible choreography for his duet and an amazing solo. Neither breaker had an amazing solo, so as with Miranda, Wadi leaves due to Tadd having a better run thus far!

New couple: Missy & Ricky

Makes sense I just love that routine and the thought of any other guy from that season in Ricky's place makes me shudder

Missy was beyond robbed, but to be honest I think a top 12 finish, at the very least, does her justice and if that was the solo she would have performed it didn't show as much diversity as her last did, suggesting all her jazz solos would just be copies of Move
And Chris is leaving because he's not top 10 material!

TOP 18: Great eliminations tbh. Alexander was the weakest guy of the season and Sasha was pretty damn inadequate as well.
TOP 16: I love Ashley and her jazz with Chris was one of my favourite routines of the week. I think she deserved to make it to Top 10 at least. Mitchell can gtfo.
TOP 14: I think Miranda was the best girl last season, so hmm I'm not sure if I like her being eliminated here. All things considered, this is a great time for Wadi to leave.
Top 12: I like them both. Perfect time for them to go.
