David Archuleta is pleased to announce the title and release date of his new album. The album is titled BEGIN., and is set for release in the US on August 7, 2012.

BEGIN. will be a mix of cover songs and original tracks. It is David’s fifth solo album after his debut record “David Archuleta”, the holiday album “Christmas From The Heart”, the sophomore record “The Other Side Of Down”, and the OPM album “Forevermore”.

Maybe it means that he's beginning his adult life? Or he is truly beginning his music career now, making music that is true to what he wants to do? Or beginning his life on his own?

There are tons of possibilities, considering the point of his life that he's in yes.gif I'm excited to see what the new album sounds like.

He has released a lot of music in a very short period of time. Has anyone in Season 7 even come close?
Putting aside the 5 full length CD's, there's the MOTAB CD where he is the featured artist and the ATE of The Other Side of Down which included 5 additional songs. I'm not counting the other EP with Zero Gravity and A Thousand Miles. He is very prolific yes.gif yes.gif yes.gif When I see how long it took Cook, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert to release their second CD, I have to laugh. I know that quality cannot be rushed but I'm not sure taking more time necessarily means a better CD.

I love the Forevermore CD and really wish they promoted it a bit more in North America. I like every song on that CD. I think some of them could do well on AC or possibly Hot AC radio. I'm very surprised that BEGIN. is being released so soon. But who knows, I'm sure someone has a master plan and the timing of the release of BEGIN. is just part of that master plan.
