Spartacus Options

I cannot tell how much I love this show. It's a great mixture of intrigues, love and passion, paired with the right amount of violence and blood. I like "history documentations" like this, if you know what I mean.

Season 3 is my least favorite, I'd say that episode 5 was the best so far. The return of Gannicus saved this season from it's departure and it's not only because of the new actor of Spartacus, it's because of the remake of events from the previous seasons. Glabber is a great villain (yay, he has some serious balls this season!), but he reminds me sooo much of Quintus and Illythia is the more powerful Lucretia. I don't like how thing turn out to be, the only blinks so far are Asher (great personality, he has grown since season one so much) and Gannicus (the best warrior of all time).

I hope this season continues to surprise me, as episode five was insanely great, even better than the preview made me expect. Didn't watch episode 6 until now, but I wanna do that as soon as possible.

I don't like the new actor of Spartacus that much, he doesn't fit to the series I think. But I guess I have to "become friends" with him, as he won't be replaced somehow. He seems like a nice guy, but I don't see him as a warrior. Besides, he plays his role very coldhearted, there are much less emotions this season and I don't like that. I liked the old Spartacus (RIP Andy!) much more, maybe it also has something to do with the script and the standards they were given. But I hope we see a more relaxed Spartacus soon, the current one seems so much scattered, it disgusts me. Crixus never lost his strength, although he suffered from the news that Neavia was dead (which turned out to be false), but if Crixus is about to become as coldhearted as Spartacus, I'd rather see him dead, seriously. No one needs walking vessels with no heart and soul.

I ask myself how many seasons will follow after this. I guess that there is plenty of material for at least 4 seasons (or more), but it all has something to do with ratings and the speed of storytelling. If this season has less ratings than GOTA and BAS, I think that we will not be able to witness more than 2 seasons.
