ADAM BROCK FAN THREAD






I noticed Adam Brock doesn't have a fan thread here yet, and even though I'm kind of ambivalent about him right now, I kind of like him and think he has an interesting blue eyed soul style. Yes, there are a lot of negative Danny Gokey comparisons (a contestant I personally felt was underrated on IDF and elsewhere), so I'm not sure how many fans Adam will have here, but he deserves a thread since everyone else has one, and he is a good singer and not your run of the mill WGWG.

There are some videos of his pre-Idol performances on Youtube, if anyone's interested. He has quite an impressive musical background.

So, for all you unconventional and bold black sheep who like Adam and see some potential, go ahead and ask to be added. I think he could be an intriguing contestant. We shall see.

Here is something that cracked me up but is pretty cool too--The Sarris candy company has made an Adam Brock white chocolate bar in his honor:

Celebrities have had tie-in products bearing their image since the days of Charlie Chaplin, and now it's Adam Brock's turn.

The Washington native and top 24 finalist on "American Idol" now has his own candy bar, courtesy of Sarris Candies in Canonsburg. The chocolatier has rolled out a limited, promotional-only run of 5,000 "White Chocolate" bars with Brock's name and image on the wrapper to commemorate his appearance on the Fox TV series.

They've given the candy bars to Brock, who can use them however he'd like, according to Norman Candelore, the retail operations manager for Sarris Candies.

"We want to ride with him as long as he's on 'American Idol,'" Candelore explained. "We want to ride with Adam and support him."

"American Idol" pilots a tight, highly secretive ship, but when they were contacted about making the chocolate bar, "they were very easy to work with," Candelore added.

As to why it's a white chocolate bar, Candelore cited Brock's soulful voice and the singer's own, oft-quoted belief that he's a "large black woman trapped inside a 27-year-old man's body." Brock also has quipped to the judges it was time for some "white chocolate up in here," before a rendition of the Ray Charles classic "Georgia On My Mind."

Brock said by email, "I think it's hysterical and so nice that they would support me like that, especially after their fire."
