QUOTE Do You Watch ‘American Idol?’ How was it working with (rock loving former contestant) James Durbin? I watch sometimes, but not very often. It was cool. I’m the only one that he asked to play on his record. There were a lot of people that wanted to play on it, but he said, “No, I only want Mick.” We’ve become pretty good friends. I think, possibly, the song I played on (‘Outcast ‘) is going to be his next single. From what I understand, and I don’t want to be a liar, there’s a lot of radio stations and fans that really like that song. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/motley-crue...mars-interview/ Methinks the WWE have chosen Outcast for their "Be A Star" anti bullying campaign that James is involved in. So I'm guessing that like with Stand Up, Outcast will be released to rock radio with the WWE handling most of the promo, like the NFL did with Stand Up, whilst Wind-up concentrates more on the next CHR/HAC single (rumoured to be Love In Ruins but I'm hoping for Deeper instead), like they did with Love Me Bad. I personally LOVE Outcast, and don't mind this scenario one bit. It'll definitely do much better than Stand Up did, especially if what Mick says about it is to be believed: QUOTE ...there’s a lot of radio stations and fans that really like that song. Is he referring to Crue fans? Now that's not a bad thing at all. While Higher Than Heaven can be considered "more current" it can be argued that post-grunge hard rock is on it's way out whilst glam metal is rising in popularity, can anyone say Black Veil Brides? So I'm very optimistic about Outcast being the next rock radio single if that's what's been decided. But we gotta work harder with radio requests this time around. --------------------

Verrry interesting! Looks like Wind Up figured Outcast would get more cred with rock radio stations because of Mick Mars playing on it. And I like it better than Screaming for WWE. The combo Mick Mars + WWE might make rock radio PDs much more receptive to the song. I think it would actually be a smart move radio wise.
As for the CHR or HC track WindUp would 'promote', hopefully more efficiently than LMB, either LIR or Deeper would be fine. --------------------

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Outcast, because it's a collab with Mick Mars is likely to get much more spins than Stand Up and even the snobby PDs will add it to their playlists for that reason. Very smart move indeed.
ETA: I'm all for James performing Outcast on Idol with Mick Mars, that would be beyond awesome!!! This post has been edited by durnet: Feb 7th 2012, 2:38 PM --------------------
