A few shows with Queen would be okay, but an entire TOUR?! No thanks. I'd rather see Adam on his OWN, doing his OWN stuff.

I mostly agree flowers.gif

However....IMO.....Adam needs a vehicle....like a movie or TV show......

Something to propel himself to the front of a bigger audience.....

Appearances with Queen will do this for him and his career.......

I think Adam's music will speak for itself, though, and that would bring in a bigger audience.

I agree. I also agree with Paula in that Adam's music speaks for itself, but for some reason he seems to need that vehicle to get people aware of his music. The EMA with Queen was a very good opportunity; just look at the success of his current promo tour in the UK heart.gif

As per usual, I agree completely with you Kimberly! I would not go out of my way to see Adam perform with Queen, unless he came near to where I live which is very doubtful. I have and would go far and wide to see Adam perform his own songs tho', in his OWN tour! I suspect there will be backlash from Queen fans and Adam fans if this is going to b an extensive tour. I am not interested in Queen.

dudez, i highly doubt this is anything other than a bunch of one shots. Adam's said constantly that his priority is his own career. he's just going to take advantage of the opportunity of a lifetime and sing for one of his biggest musical influences when they need him for special events. can't blame him. but i don't think singing some shows with Queen means ignoring his own career... the Queen gig is supplemental (as insane as that sounds, haha. Only Adam.)

we're going to get full on Adam-only storm with epic sprinkles of Queen. no bad there.

Just a reminder - this is was Adam said some time ago:

@adamlambert: I'm my OWN frontman. original.gif maybe an special occasion guest, sure, but #Trespassing is my next big obsession

And I take Adams word over some english tabloid. I am sure we will getting some shows - perhaps even the Sonisphere Festival but I highly doubt there will be a whole tour.

Since this thread is not just about Queen - I am very much interested in the possible collab Adam is not able to talk about. He mentioned this in the Sugascape interview "if the one that I want to happen happens, ervyone will be very excited".
Fingers crossed that his dream collab will come true - and I am dying to know who that artist will be.

I seriously doubt it's a 'tour'. That's why I hate that word being thrown around. It's most likely one weekend of performances at a festival.

What has been established here, though is -- journalists are lazy. Every reputable media organization that is reporting this is using the story from the "Daily Star". No one is taking the time to research it on their own to confirm it. There's been no official word from Adam, Queen or the festival. Yet, if all you know is what you read - especially the headlines - Adam is going to be joining Queen as their frontman and touring with them this summer.

This! We know his dream is Bowie...also he's mentioned Xtina. My bet is on Bruno Mars tho'..cause we know the song they collaborated on made the Trespassing cut.

Personally I'd love to see it be Bowie.

BUT...here's an off the wall thought....anyone remember a while back there was a digital blend of Elvis and Celine Dion? Wouldn't a track of Adam & Freddie be beyond everything we'd ever expect?

Don't stop him now -- Adam Lambert is on fire!

The season eight American Idol winner confirmed to the U.K.'s Daily Star Thursday that he has been tapped to be the lead singer of Queen -- the spot in which original member Freddie Mercury held until his untimely death in 1991.

"The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs," Lambert, 30, told the paper. "It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of. There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible."

Adam follows in the footsteps of vocalist Paul Rodgers, 62, who went on a 2005 tour with original Queen bandmates guitarist Brian May, 64, and drummer Roger Taylor, 62.

Lambert attributes some of his success to Mercury, who he's named to be his longtime idol. In addition to singing Queen's timeless mega-hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" for his American Idol audition and performing "We Are the Champions" with Rodgers and May at the show's finale, he took the stage at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards with the duo in November to perform a medley of the band's hits.

Queen is set to headline the Sonisphere Festival tour this summer.
