Kris Allenation AI Season 11 Discussion Thread Options

They removed 2 American Idol winners (Taylor Hicks and Jordin Sparks) for this year's opening theme and included 5 non-winners from last year (Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, Casey Abrams, and Pia Toscano) there. They also removed 3 non-winners from last year's intro (Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert).

So now they have only 8 winners in the opening theme (Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze and Scotty McCreery) + those 5 non-winners from last season.

Poor Taylor and Jordin, especially Jordin How disrespectful to them.

since the last 3 winners will be Lee Dewyze, Scotty and this year winner.

Unfortunately that also excludes Kris.

They eliminated Jim Carrey's daughter. I read a post that said she sings and tours and is actually very talented. The poster was blown away that she even went on AI. Another poster complained that she received special treatment. She didn't have to wait outside in line to see the judges.

I didn't think she sang that badly. I was a little surprised when she was cut. I wonder if they set the bar higher for her, because of her famous father. In other words, unless she absolutely blew them away, they didn't really want to consider her. People would always be suspicious of her getting special treatment. Besides it's not like she doesn't have contacts of her own. American Idol is about the contestant who comes from the average American family who wouldn't have a chance in the world to become famous if not for AI. But then again, it's hard to know what the judges were thinking.

The judges constant overpraising is getting on my nerves. Steven Tyler is useless with his limited vocabulary of "that was beautiful". Ugh. No wonder AI's ratings are declining. They want to paint a picture that this season is filled again with brilliant contestants so everyone should tune in. Sorry but you can't fool me. I was'nt impressed with anyone tonight. This is the first time I'm watching this season so I wondering if its worth it to check out the girls tomorrow night?

I read Kris and his friends watched the first live show together the other day.
Judging from what's going on, I think Kris is very likely to be on AI sometime in April. (or May)

I miss the old days when Kris was on too. My eyes were wide open when I heard the creative version of " Remember the time". (Top 13 night, probably)The acoustic guitar was barely audible, he was kind of dorky on stage, but I loved the fresh vibe of the version and his voice. He became my favorite since them.

Being a loyal fan is sometimes pretty tiring, so all the respect for the hardcore fans who never ceased to support him all the way. ( I'm not one of them.I've been away for about a year! not that I was disappointed but just it took to long to hear new music.). But glad to see some of his fans are coming back. We don't know if his single/album will be a hit or failure but I'm very proud of what I've heard from him. And that's all it takes.

I like some people like Phil and Shannon, but no one can compare to Kris. I miss watching Kris in AI. I listen to his version of Falling Slowly daily.

I think people lack imagination. They are all different! Different voice, singing style, musical taste, favorite genre, performing style etc etc.
I don't have any favorite this year though I like all four above pretty fine. But I hope a girl wins if she does well. I'm getting really sick of WGWG mentions.

I don't know why but I get this feeling that Hollie is the real dark horse who could win it all. I believe she's likeable and has a real good voice.

My favorites so far:

Jessica Sanchez, Erika Van Pelt, Deandre and Elise Testone. The judges liked the first three but they gave Elise a rough time and I don't think she deserved it. I hope Shannon doesn't go home. It would be premature.

That is all I have to say. You never know about these singers until they put out their own album. That is the true test and Kris has passed that test.

Kris might have pissed some sentive AI fans on twitter by saying
" There are a lot of good singers on the show but I think Joshua Ledet is the best singer that's ever been on the show" Joshua impressed many last night, including the very Percy Sledge himself who called Joshua personally after the show.


I've already seen too many " What about Adam, What about Carrie, What about Kelly?" etc etc.
Kris could have said like Pia who tweeted " Marry me..Joshua" . Wait, would it be more controversial?
Personally, I really don't care. He can say who he likes most any time. Wish he had used some euphemism though.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and so is he. Just because someone opposes his idea doesn't mean his perspective is wrong. For me anything concerning AI is a frivolous topic of conversation that doesn't deserve to be given a serious thought.

We may start seeing a different Steven Tyler. Did you listen to Steven Tyler last night? He was criticizing almost everyone. I was flabbergasted!! He was booed a couple of times. I don't know whether he was told that he hasn't been critical enough or that maybe he's just tired of being Mr nice guy, but he has changed his tune. We'll see if it continues.

I missed last nights episode... Or the one before that. 2 hours is a long time for me to get indulged in this show. My problem is that when the contestant is good they want to make it appear that he's very, very good. I just want them to call a spade a spade without any ad infinitums.
