Tropicana Las Vegas is thrilled to announce that RPM Nightclub will host Jordin Sparks’ Birthday Celebration on Saturday, January 7 with music by DJ sourMILK from Power 106.

Sparks is the Season 6 winner of “American Idol,” and is the youngest winner in the history of the show! She is best known for her hit songs, “No Air,” “Battlefield,” and “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play).”

Since winning the title of “American Idol,” Sparks has also been honored as an AMA winner, a Peoples’ Choice Award winner and has been a GRAMMY nominated artist.

R&B singer Jason Derulo has sidelined his upcoming tour of the U.K. after seriously injuring his neck during a rehearsal in Florida this week. Doctors say the acrobatics that fractured Derulo's neck could have left the 22-year-old paralyzed.

Some artists work overtime to ensure fans have a neck-breaking good time at their concerts.

That's a campaign promise R&B star Jason Derulo takes very seriously.

Perhaps a bit too seriously.

Derulo -- aka Mr. Jordin Sparks -- was badly injured while preparing for his European tour earlier this week. The 22-year-old singer wound up in a neck brace after a concert rehearsal went terribly wrong.

"I fractured my neck doing tumbling & acrobatics 4 tour!" Jason tweeted on Wednesday, along with a link to this image. "Always tryin 2 push boundaries 4 YOU! Like my new chain?"

The singer was rushed to Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Florida for treatment. Derulo has since been released, but doctors said the injury could have potentially paralyzed the "Whatcha Say" singer.

Jason will have to continue wearing the neck brace for the next few months. That means bad news for fans who snapped up tickets for the European leg of his Future History World Tour.

It’s all about birthday celebrations this weekend, and there’s no bigger party than those scheduled around what would have been Elvis Presley’s 77th on Monday. The King of Rock ’n’ Roll is still the most beloved Las Vegas entertainer of all time, and the spirit of the legendary performer will be remembered this weekend and into next week. So put on your blue suede shoes and join the numerous artists and shows paying tribute.

The big attraction is Cirque du Soleil’s “Viva Elvis” at Aria, but also check out nearby Gold Boutique Lounge with its redecorated decor inspired by Graceland and a menu of his favorite sweets including gummy bears and jelly doughnuts.

The salutes start tonight and Saturday with a celebration of the King’s life featuring Johnny Fortuno, The Stamps Quartet and friends of Elvis at Cannery. Also in town: Elvis married Priscilla Presley at the Aladdin (now Planet Hollywood), and there’s a statue of him at the new LVH (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) where he performed those record-breaking seven years of “Heartbreak Hotel” concerts in the 1970s. If you’re a gambling man, think of all those 7’s lining up.

Tribute artists include Matt Lewis at “Legends in Concert” at Harrah’s, Tom Stevens at Suncoast for two nights, Dennis Wise at Boulder Station and Trent Carlini at LVH. You could get married at Graceland Wedding Chapel downtown with a special Elvis-themed service or pose for photos alongside his wax figure at Madame Tussauds at the Venetian (squeeze his hand, and he’ll speak in that familiar Southern drawl!) or his Cadillac that’s on display at the Imperial Palace auto collection.

It’s a quieter-than-normal weekend as our city gets ready for the giant Consumer Electronics Show that starts Monday and opens officially Tuesday for four days. Some 150,000 delegates are expected to view 2,700 exhibits at the world’s largest electronics show. There’s 1.8 million square feet of convention space at the Las Vegas Convention Center, plus additional exhibits at the Venetian, LVH and Mandalay Bay. Add in the 91st anniversary Miss America Pageant headquartered at Planet Hollywood, and you understand why this is a weekend to prepare for the crush.

Also marking birthdays this weekend here are chart-topping star rapper Pitbull with a performance at the new 1OAK in the Mirage and “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks celebrating her 25th at the new RPM Nightclub in the Tropicana. She won Season 6 and at the time was the show’s youngest winner -- I’m betting that she’ll go public for the first time with her mystery boyfriend who I’m certain is singer-songwriter Jason Derulo.

Jordin Sparks, the beautiful multi-platinum, GRAMMY nominated songstress and Season Six winner of “American Idol” will celebrate her 22nd birthday at RPM Nightclub this Saturday, Jan. 7 with resident DJ sourMILK™ from LA’s Power 106 FM.

Jordin will also be celebrating the upcoming release of her SONY Pictures feature film debut, “Sparkle,” starring opposite Whitney Houston. “Sparkle” will be in theaters August 10, 2012.

Season 6 “American Idol” winner and Grammy Award-nominated and multiplatinum-selling singer Jordin Sparks celebrated her 22nd birthday with family, including her mother Jodi Sparks, and friends at the new RPM Nightclub at the Tropicana on Saturday night.

Jordin wore an animal-print dress by Karina Grimaldi and danced at her table and on the dance floor before trying her hand at blackjack in RPM’s elite gaming lounge. She was presented with a birthday cake by Freed’s Bakery and enjoyed a weekend at the Tropicana that included dining at Biscayne and Bacio (where she posed for a photograph with Chef Carla Pellegrino) and relaxing at Glow Spa.

A plan for new boyfriend Jason Derulo to accompany her and the couple to reveal their love match was reportedly derailed when he injured his neck during rehearsals for his new summer tour. He also canceled the tour and will be in a neck brace for several months.
