When do the numbers come out?

Brian Mansfield normally reports on the track sales numbers (Nielsen SoundScan) of the Idols on USA Today on Wednesdays. Therefore, he would probably report on the sales number of BTIKM on Wednesday 28th December 2011.

You are welcome, Marie! original.gif

But I don't know whether there will be delays this week because of the Christmas holidays (Christmas Day on Sunday 25th December 2011 and Boxing Day on Monday 26th December 2011).???

What would a 'good showing' be? What did WWFM sell the first week? I guess BTIKM will beat it though, since it took a while for WWFM to take off?

WWFM sold 11,000 in its debut.

We don't have Boxing Day in the U.S. It's back to work for most of us. blarg.gif

Really? I am surprised. I always thought it was a North American thing (i.e. Canada and U.S.).

The things you learn at IDF!

True, we don't have Boxing Day. But, because Christmas fell on a Sunday, this is the "day off" for a lot of people - post office, courts, banks are closed.

Next weekend is weird. My office is closed on Friday the 30th "for New Years Eve", but will be open on January 2nd. However, courts, banks and post office will be closed for the New Year's Day "day off". I just received an email about local government re-organization, swearing in of the newly elected and luncheon on January 2nd, when they assume that there's a holiday involved.

I'm also from Canada, and I'm surprised to learn that, too. You mean, the States doesn't have boxing day sales?

Nope, there really is no US observation of Boxing Day. Although that will probably change if the retailers ever figure out how to commercialize it! All our sales are just called After Christmas sales or Clearance sales. No mention of Boxing Day.

That really is surprising, I thought BoxingDay was worldwide.

I hadn't heard of boxing day before. I work at a college and while the students are on Christmas break our office was open with a skeleton staff including me today.

Boxing Day is a British thing. That's why it's observed in the UK, Canada, Australia, etc.. (commonwealth nations), but not the U.S.

I figured. But I'm a little surprised that there's a skeleton staff at an office, the day smack after the big holiday!
