He avoided elimination all through his American Idol run, but Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze has reached the end of the road at RCA Records.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week, newly appointed RCA Records CEO Peter Edge confirmed that the 25-year-old DeWyze is no longer on the label. Under Sony Music CEO Doug Morris, who took the reigns in July, RCA has absorbed the rosters of Jive, Arista and J Records, all labels which have seen their share of Idols signings, both winners and runners up. Good!! Lee can do so much better and create his style of music now. Just from reading that article, I conclude that RCA was not happy that they couldn't R&A Lee. In other words, he wouldn't let them change him as an artist!! GOOD for Lee!!
We fans recognized early on the lack of support they were providing Lee. I just hope the fans of his music keep supporting and following his progress. --------------------

Good. He's better off without them. He can do better on his own or with a different label.

maybe he can sign with interscope. i'm sure jimmy iovine will give lee the creative control he wants to make the kind of music he wants to make.

I don't think he'll sign with another major label, tbh. He always seemed happier with a small label and on the tour was mentioning how much fighting he did with RCA.
