If this tour is anything like the last then that means he isn't going to come anywhere near me. I guess there is always vids though.

Well, I'm not surprised he is not coming anywhere near me. He didn't for the first Christmas show. I understand he can not come everywhere but he is only going to 5 states. And he is going to multiple stops in two of them. I read that the stops in CA are within less than an hour of each other. That doesn't make sense to me. I would think that would hurt his ticket sells because they are so close together. But maybe I'm wrong about that.
I am happy that David is touring and for those who get to see him. -------------------- |

I was hoping he would maybe come to Minnesota since he had to cancel his last christmas show here, there are more dates coming so I'll guess we'll see. People in CA and NY sure are lucky they have lots of chances to see him

And I don't totally understand why he has to keep covering the same areas instead of adding new ones. Whatever. But I'm still happy that he's touring at all. 10 stops was more than I expected, actually. And.....do y'all think we should help get the word out? Most people don't even know he's still singing and he hasn't been on the radio for...ever. So I'm a little concerned about sales, especially since he has no label or mgmt to help with promotions. Unless ILAA handles all of that..? -------------------- |

Unless ILAA handles all of that..? This time i can give him an excuse for that, he has been absent of the tour buzz for long time in US, so he need the comeback making buzz in big cities and selling out his shows, hopefully that will be the case...i have not idea about the distance between the cities they pick, but i guess they have a plan to promote too. And in a perfect world they would do an small spring tour and then a summer one opening for someone ...yeah i know is difficult ... but i can still dreaming about. Note in a second thought, i realized that he put 4 dates in CA and 3 in NY ....and nothing in Chicago or Florida (his Born State) or Texas by example ....idk kind of odd . To be fair, the 3 New York dates are really not very close to each other. Westbury is about 2 hours from NYC and Verona is 5-6 hours from them both. That might not seem like a lot to a hardcore fan willing to travel cross-country to see David but for someone not quite as invested, it's a decent distance. As a broke college student living in central Jersey, the only feasible date for me is the NYC one. Not sure if it's the same for the California.

I do think it is odd that David is not going to Chicago. He has always been very popular there. I understand not going back to some places. I think KC is one place where the show didn't sell well. There might be logistical reasons for him skipping Chicago though.
I know nothing of putting a tour together. I am sure there are plenty of factors as to why David is touring where he is. I understand that touring is very expensive. Maybe he is not able to go very many places on this tour for financial reasons. It does seem though that David has a tendency to consistently tour in the same few places. -------------------- |

New dates :
Dec 8 Boise, ID; Knitting Factory Dec 9 Blackfoot, ID; Blackfoot Performing Arts Center Dec 10 Cedar City, UT; Heritage Center Theater Yay. I do think it is odd that David is not going to Chicago. Well, it seems to me for his first solo tour he probably didn't have a lot of say-so. Next, was it the Demi tour? Same. Then CFTH which was in 2009. A Christmas tour by nature is just a smaller tour anyway I would assume. Isn't that his last U.S. tour??? I mean he's done a few shows, but no other tour. We thought there would be a TOSOD tour, but that never materialized. So this tour I think is just a chance for him to get out there, enjoy being with SOME of the fans, and enjoy himself as well. I think it's just not logistically/materially possible to do a more extensive tour at this point in time.
If you check out previous tour dates, the guy's actually been a lot of places! http://fansofdavid.com/?page_id=16941 This post has been edited by 1FineDay: Sep 29th 2011, 2:51 AM -------------------- |

Blackfoot, Idaho and cedar city? Lol random small towns that I dont see the need of him going if he is hitting slc and Boise.
I really do feel bad for the fans that live in all the states that are no where near any of the stops. I really do think it's ridiculous to go to so many stops so close together and ignoring the majority of the country. I understand that it probably is cause of budget costs but still... It's catering to the same ol "old" fans which many are probably going to go to multiple stops cause they are close I'm going to slc but no way am I getting VIP. I've met him several times for free and dont need another autograph. And there is not a soundcheck/acustic set in VIP so it's not worth $200 IMO -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sing Out, Sing Out. Things can only get better. Sing Out, Sing Out.
