Siobhan has a big show coming up this Saturday, but she still had time yesterday to visit with patients at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. This is just one more example of how Siobhan has been using her new found fame to reach out and help others. She is an amazing talent, and an even better person.

Videos from the 8/6/11 performance.
"All My Love" is the best of the bunch, IMO. In fact, I think it is fantastic! If you only have time to watch one video, that should be the one. The others are also really good though, especially "Across the Universe" and "Barracuda". There are no videos of any of Siobhan's original tunes, as the person who shot these is respecting her management's wishes to keep them under wraps until official videos come out. Her rendition of "All My Love" is amazing. Wish it had the big note like the Melody Tent's performance though.

Rumor has it that Siobhan is going to include one cover on her debut album due out in October, and "All My Love" is it. If that's the case, I can't wait to hear what she's able to do with this song in the studio!

Sio reminds me, damn, I gotta get back a stack of blues cds I loaned a friend at work. Arthur Big Boy Cruddup, Lightning Hopkins, Son House, Memphis Slim, Howling Wolf, and a Bo Diddley and I threw in a just to emphasize the continuity. It's easy to see why the British blues rockers tapped in so much to such a wonderful source. Siobhan meanwhile is progressively becoming one of my favorite growling-voiced, blues-singing black women. ...And yet there she is as white as a gray Irish sky can make a girl.
