I thought I was conservative too, but a while back I guess I truly didn't know. My political identity is still growing.

I do not know Like, at least bother to research the FACTS. I don't expect her to be able to tell me the composition of Earth's atmosphere, but if you're trying to debate this kind of stuff, it's completely unacceptable to just blatantly put false information out there. Like, Carbon dioxide is harmless because it's ~natural. And then she pulls those numbers out of nowhere. It hurts my soul, it does. /rant

I'm loving these videos I'm finding of her. Sorry guys, but Sarah wouldn't say some of these things. She has only been in the public eye for a short time and people are already noticing her slips. Especially with the "Are you a flake?" comment.

I love how you can find all kinds of videos like this of her. My mom kept talking about how she's "tough" (she watches Fox News all the time, I can't deal with it ), and I didn't know much about her, tbh. Then I came across some of this stuff.

I'll believe CO2 is good when I hear it from a woman with a Bachelors of Art and a Masters of Law.

The thing is, if you're somewhere between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party and can go either way depending on the issue, you're probably a conservative by pretty much any other western democracy's standards. People are too easily confused into thinking Democrat=Liberal (much less pot-smoking commy). I realize many of the Democratic Party's supporters are clear liberals, but based on policy, the party itself is more of a centrist block.

An example of an actual liberal party would be the NDP in Canada, which, unlike the Democratic Party, takes an unambiguously left-wing stance on every issue, and I can't even imagine what would happen to the Democrats if they turned into that.

I've said this before the US Democrats can even be slightly on the right hand side depending on who the leader is. I would have said that the US Democrats would have been equivalent to our Conservative party before it realigned with the Alliance/Reform parties which have skewed it more right than it was for a while. It's probably why I loathe Harper so much because he was actually formally a Reform candidate. Our Liberal party is most-centred, usually though just slightly left and of course, our NDP is the socialist party. I think it's because the US in general is just way more conservative then a lot of other countries that even their Liberals tend to be more conservative then other Liberals.

Seriously. If I was going to speak about a subject I wasn't familiar with I'd make sure I did my homework.

She is tough, but just because she's a tough doesn't mean she's not a dumb ass. Keep looking, she has many many many other mess ups. There's one video I seen like 5 months ago and I have no idea where it is, but it had me on the floor.

Look into Bachmann's history, and you'll see why she actually really does believe that statement about slavery. The quack she worked for as a research assistant thinks that the Founding Fathers were really trying to protect slaves by using them as slaves. Apparently, if they released them, they'd have no money to be able to fend for themselves, or some such bullsh*t. So how 'bout employ them under non-slave terms?

This is why I can never take these people seriously. They're soooo against Government....yet they want goverment jobs on the taxpayers dime. And then they use those funds to cart their lazy asses to their son's ballgames (Christie), tart around to visit their lovers in Argentina (whatshisface in South Carolina), and pay for electrical wiring to hook up their tanning beds in their governor's mansions (Palin).

They're so full of sh*t. Why do people not see this?!

Really sucks for people who actually need some of the things that these very Republicans work to deny.

As for the Bachmann clips, I still don't think any of that compares to not knowing a THING about the bailout, when that just happened to be, like, the biggest story in the world at that time. Wtf. And you're running for Vice President!

I do believe that Bachmann has a bigger capacity for intelligence, for the simple fact that I think she'd at least be interested in learning/listening to others.

Most Dems and Republicans who have worked with Bachmann all say that they wouldn't compare her to Palin for that very reason. They do think that she's smarter.

Generally, it seems like people come away feeling that Bachmann is more serious than she lets on. The opposite with Palin. From an author who's coming out with a book about Palin:

Most telling, though, is what came from Palin herself. It's what's most telling, because she still clearly views things this way. And the sad part is, she's right to view things this way, because her supporters are letting her get away with her lack of work:

I wish I could find where Palin the "energy expert" was babbling incoherently about energy at a McCain town hall. It was the greatest clip.

Anyway, sucks for Palin that Bachmann is causing Palin to come to the forefront again. Bachmann gets the edge for at least trying, IMO.

The only thing Christie would be able to do is get the Republicans a win in a democratic state. Same with Scott Brown, but I doubt he'll get picked.

No, I think Obama would beat any Republican in New Jersey, even with Christie on the ticket. Polling says as much right now (voters there would vote for Obama over Christie), though obviously polling isn't everything. I just don't see New Jersey voting for a Republican on the national scale.

I don't know that Scott Brown could turn blue states red, but he could help in swing states.

Christie is gonna be a one term-er I think.

..and I think he knows it. He will launch his Presidential run a few months after he leaves his first term, I think. He'll just not run for a second term. I think Cory Booker could beat him in New Jersey, so it's better for Christie to not run.
