The contestants arrive in Vegas, and once they're all seated together in the auditorium, the executive producer comes out on stage to make a few announcements:

First, he says, when the Top 100 was announced, there were many complaints from the public concerning why their particular favorites didn't make it, so the producers talked it over and decided that twenty more tickets would be given out.

Second, when the auditions were making the rounds of Europe, Germany was completely overlooked, so in order to correct that oversight, one of the twenty tickets would be going to Eva Nitsch, who came in second on the German version, and later choreographed some memorable routines in Poland.

Third, it was decided that instead of a Top 20, these 120 finalists will be vying for a place in a Top 24. However, five couples (rather than three) will be in the bottom on the first results show only, and four dancers will be going home instead of two. After that, the competition will continue in its regular format with no additional twists.

With that, the executive producer gives a signal, and the twenty additional finalists stream onto the stage, to thunderous applause.

[With this new development, I've tried to accommodate everyone from yesterday who posted the name of a dancer not in the original group, and I tossed in a couple more of my own faves too. But the deadline has now passed for those who still have complaints. Sorry.

Now I'm back to planning out how the rest of "Vegas" will go. ]

As the first day of boot camp concludes, following a round of individual solos, the judges announce that the first wave of cuts will soon be made. Furthermore, the dancers are told that because of the current gender imbalance, the goal of the producers is to achieve an even split by the time it gets down to a Top 48.

At this news, many of the girls glance at each other with "uh oh" looks on their faces, realizing that they're now more likely to receive some bad news sooner rather than later.

Before revealing the cuts, however, the judges remind everyone that to have come this far is a great honor, and that there aren't any losers no matter the outcome. With that, the following twelve people are told that their journey on the first international all-star season has now ended.

The judges then adjourn for a five minute break, after which the next dozen cuts will be made.

I know. But I had to sort of space them out to avoid a number of painful cuts all at once, since I can't put every fave of mine into the Top 20, or even Top 48.

Jess isn't going to be happy about Neil, either, but I did spare some of her other faves at least.

I am a little disappointed with some of the cuts, but not so much so. But the fact that you cut both Kent and Neil makes up for all of them.

Awww some of these cuts were harsh (Kent ) but there are still so many amazing dancers left. This is so hard.
