Jive will merge with Epic label. I wonder how this will affect Kris.

In what is perhaps the music industry’s worst kept secret, THR has learned definitively that X Factor judge and former Island Def Jam chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid is headed to Sony Music. He will take on the chairman title at the soon-to-be restructured Epic Label Group, which will encompass Jive Records and reunite Reid with two artists he discovered and developed: Usher and Pink.

I'm thinking it will have some effect on Kris or when he gets his next album out ( )... My gut says that he'll be with RCA and not Epic. The major problem that could come from this reshuffling, as I see it, will be the staff changes and how those staff changes effect Kris, whether directly or indirectly. I just hope the powers that be (TPTB) listen to Kris' music, voice, and look at his potential in the industry, because I think he has a lot of qualities that a real artist should have, and he deserves even more success than he's had thus far. He NEEDS their support, and I think if he could just get that, then the rest will fall nicely into place.

Q. You’re a married dad. Is it hard to be away from home so much?

A. Definitely. This is the longest I’ve been home in awhile. I kind of get to be a regular person for over a week — cook dinner, hang with my daughter and my wife. This weekend we’re going up to the lake for the first time in three years.

Looks like Kris' street team Little Pawns will be creating a 2013 Kris calendar! I found out about it in a recent email/newsletter I received from them. Such a cool idea!

Obviously this will be a fan created effort. So read the post first and then go and submit some great Kris concert photos if you have any.


Their post says that they want concert photos,(I have a few I've taken myself, but I'm still deciding if I should submit them or not.)but I wish that pics from his album shoots and elsewhere were going to be used for the calendar too. Sigh...Maybe we'll get a official album themed calendar one day. This is better than nothing though.
