Fun stuff:

I came into this strong and knew who I was *always*.
But I've definitely gone outside the boundaries
Taken completely different things and just never backed down
I like taking on challenges
I like going outside the box and I really just pushed this whole competition to do those kind of things.
I've had a blast with it.
You know I said every single week there's nothing I would have done differently.
After *everything*.
I could get whatever comments I got
I could sing something and they told it was not in my lane
I ddddinnn'tt carrrrrre.
And I said there's a reason for everything
And I'm proud of everything I've done
and showing versatility is not a bad thing in my book.
It only makes me feel better and strong about who I am
and why I'm here on this earth and what I'm trying to do and display.

I knew she was a strong kid, but she impressed me saying how she wouldn't let them bottle her up. She can be so self-assured but also a total goofball. Love her!

Seriously I love her. She definitely did things outside the box and made this season interesting to watch. And her positive attitude. Gahh I love that.

From the conference call this afternoon:

Is she aware of the celeb support? “I’m not too big on the blogs, I look at the tweets. Getting that support from Adam was amazing He’s one of the best who ever set foot on the stage.”

On singing with her Dad & Singing in Europe, “My parents have taught me the rules of the stage since I was 8. The first big thing I got to do I was 9 at the Tattoo Festival. I sang Blue from Leann Rimes. I figured out I could Yodel. It’s always been a dream of mine to get somewhere. I thought it would be an honor to have my mom and dad on stage with me. Being able to show America could do was so special to me.”

On hanging with the teenagers, “I’ve grown up around adult crowds. It’s been fun. Lauren takes me back to when I was younger. 5 years can be a big difference. It’s been really fun.”

On the judges being critical. “It could go both ways. I believe their intention was to get me along further. They tried to get me fired up to get me at the top of my game. I got to Top 3 and that was quite alright.”

Regrets? “I don’t live in regret. I do nitpick. Each step has gotten me to where I am. I got to show versatility. I’m proud to do that.”

“I took a lot of risks in the beginning. America didn’t know how to take me. I got into my own little niche, and America caught on.”

On being in the b3 so often, “I don’t like to sell myself short. Taking that all in stride, I stepped my game up more and more.”

Was she angry last night? “Not at all. All in all I accepted it very quickly. Everything happens for a reason. It’s a good. thing. It means I’m going to start my career as a solo artist even sooner.”

Did America get the real her? “No It’s easy to get depicted in different ways on the show. It’s all in the way the cards playing out. I like to have a good time. I’m usually bubbly. It’s really hard to get that all out in a short minute and a half.”

How the judges were treating her? “The only thing I can get out of that is they really wanted to push my buttons to get the most out of me. It is what it is. Randy says it’s all love. Alright, I understand.”

On her initial reaction to the elim last night, “You have seconds to think about it. I took a second and said “alright” I had to sing a song in about 5 seconds. I got off stage and I was at peace with everything. I realized how much I was going to miss everyone. Everybody is such a big family. Everybody was so supportive. They’ve got my back.”

Confidence going forward, “I absolutely adore jen hudson. Being a fellow chigagoan…it gives me so much hope and faith. Crystal getting to do the kind of music she wants to do…I’m excited for the future.”

On Casey Abrams, “It started a long time ago, when we started bonding. We could just confide in each other. That’s when the rumors all started. We laughed about it. Obviously we have a very strong relationship.”

Did the rumors help or hurt? “We didn’t really give into the rumors. We got so many questions about it. Either way, it’s not going to hurt anybody. We played the game, it was fun.”

Memory from her homecoming, “It was raining out, yet I had 30K plus waiting. I saw so many familiar faces it really got to me. Getting my parents and their band on stage with me–it was a really fun tour.

Has she seen the Idol tour? “I’ve been a fan, but I’ve never seen the tour.”

Judges advice extreme: How hard is it? “If I do get the positive, I’ll stick with that. I take it all in, but I know what kind of artist I am. Jimmy helped me out with some of those performances I got harsh critiques on. I really appreciate Jimmy.”

Do the judges matter? “It’s up to America. They let me stick around to the Top 3. That’s amazing.”

Her album? “I have a lot of ideas of what I’d like to do. I’d like to do an album that’s sultry bluesy rock. I’d like to slip in some jazz.”

Best mentor? “I had a great time with Lady Gaga and Beyonce. Sheryl Crow is somebody I look up to. They were all so down to earth and very generous with their comments. It was very sweet all around.”

What makes Lauren and Scotty the American Idol, “As far as the viewers of the show, this is perfect for them. They are both so damn cute. I’m excited to see what happens. I can see young America being very captivated by these two.”

Who will win? “You know I can’t do that! It’s a close one. It’s anyone’s game.”

Who would she like to work with on an album? “I love classic rock. If I could do something with Steven. I adore Janelle Monae, Esperanza Spalding. I hope to do something just as cool.”

One favorite moment from the show, “I picked “Benny and the Jets” last night because that was a big moment for me. I had a whole vision. That was my arrangement. It worked out very well.”

Better off not winning? “You never know. I’m excited to get out there and do exactly what I want to do. I’m excited for the future.”

Haley Reinhart's Hometown Supporters Thought She'd Make 'American Idol' Finale
'She's done more in a matter of months than most people do in their lives,' said one friend of the ousted 'Idol' contestant

It's rare, but sometimes you meet someone and can tell within the first few minutes of hanging out that they have something special. That's how people described Wheeling, Illinois, native Haley Reinhart in her run-up to Thursday night's final "American Idol" season 10 elimination show.

The scrappy blues mama crawled back from the bottom four times to make it to the top three on "Idol," only to be ousted just before the finale. Nonetheless, her supporters say she's one of those rare talents who shine through without being showy, and are confident she'll make the most of her time in the spotlight.

But when she came back after a few days with the sheet music all crumpled up into a ball, he was wary, and before handing her the microphone he asked Haley to stand next to him and sing a bit with the band without amplifying her voice. "She sang for about eight seconds and I stopped the band, told her to grab the microphone and said, 'Let's do this for real,' " he explained. "She didn't have any music in front of her and she sang as well the first time as she did the last time."

What did your dad tell you after the show last night?

He was on cloud nine. He said he had a blast, that this was my best concert ever. This was a keepsake for life that we'll always have. Nothing can take that away from us.

What goals do you have for your time on stage during the upcoming tour?

Performing, it's such a different ballgame in front of the judges. Performing on stage is what I've done since I was kid. It's the passion that has started from the very beginning for me. And that's what I'm going to enjoy, just letting loose, knowing that I'm not going to get judged one more time. I'm just going to love that crowd and look out into each and every seat and show them how much I appreciate them and want to be there for them.

What do you think your album will be like?

I have a lot of ideas, even from now to the future, of what I'd like to do. I'd love to do an album that's sultry, bluesy rock. I absolutely love jazz, so if I can slip that in somewhere or, even, in the future, get more into jazz, but I'm definitely loving the sultry, bluesy rock feel.

What qualities do Scotty and Lauren have that make them the American Idol?

As far as the viewers of the show, this is perfect for them. We have a very young audience out there. They're both just so darn cute. They've got the country calling for them. This is a country year.

I'm excited to see what happens. But I definitely can see the young America being very captivated by these two.

If you could pick one moment you want people to remember from the show, what would it be?

Well, I picked Bennie and the Jets last night, because that was a big turning point. I had good performances leading up to that, starting with You Really Got a Hold on Me.

With Bennie and the Jets, I had a whole vision of how I wanted that to pan out. It was may arrangement, how I started it off, jazzy and a little bit slower, then it rocked out by the end of it. I planned out that whole thing on the piano. It worked out very well. So I guess I would say that performance.

I don't know if I could love her anymore. Such a graceful and sassy exit interview. "From the Bottom 3 to the Top 3" wow. I'm glad she enjoyed homecoming so much. As much as I wanted her to make the finale, I think that was a HUGE accomplishment for our fanbase

Lots of interesting stuff in the interviews and articles! Loved her responses to some of the questions especially about her versatility, her come back story, the judges etc. She's clearly a classy, fiery, real, free-spirited gal . And I knew she was musically sophisticated, but it's very impressive that she came up with the entire arrangement of BATJ (one of the very best performances of the season) by herself! And I love the sound of a sultry blues/rock/jazz album! Hopefully Jimmy and Interscope will help her release some great and intriguing music under that fusion style
