"They [American Idol] want Chris [Brown] and Rihanna to reunite on the show," a source tells E! News.
http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/20...-idol-duet.html I really hope AI backs out of this!!! Sorry to keep bringing this idiot back into our forum discussions, but I really have a burning desire to kick this guy in the n**ts, if you know what I mean. You're back! I love the Hunger Games. Wasn't excited for the movie at first but the trailer looks pretty awesome. You should really read it. The book is excellent. Just looked it up. The trailer makes me want to watch the movie, but I love to read, so I'll probably do that first. --------------------

Just looked it up. The trailer makes me want to watch the movie, but I love to read, so I'll probably do that first. I would do that. I saw the trailer which made me want to read the books. I did and got totally addicted which made the wait for the movie that much harder. You might want to wait to read them until mid-March, though, because everyone who I know that has read them did so in about a week so you don't want to have to wait long before the movie comes out. --------------------

Esperanza Spalding sang at the Oscars. I had no idea who she was until they said her name at the end.

Yes-I had never heard her sing anything in that vein before but that was really nice. That girl is ridiculously talented-people might not be aware that she is also a world class jazz bass player. I was really glad that Meryl Streep won-she was long overdue. -------------------- |

Iron Lady wasn't one of the better pictures of the year and maybe the Academy was figuring its now or never for Meryl but I would never take anything away from her-she's been nominated 17 times. -------------------- |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she holds the record. Also, I think she made a joke about taking her time because she was never going to be up there again, and after being nominated all those times and only winning three, I don't think she really wants to -------------------- Thank you, Tusk :D |

I believe it broke records in the UK and Australia. She did do all her own singing as did, unfortunately, Pierce Brosnan This post has been edited by Tusk: Feb 27th 2012, 6:17 PM --------------------

Haha, yeah It was a valiant effort. I was posting in their forums at the time and there was much consternation about the casting. People were fine with Streep as she has Star Power and has been on stage and is a competent singer. Pierce Brosnan? Not so much It's one thing or the other...Get big names like Streep and Brosnan and their star power to bring in non ABBA fans, or cast great singers and performers from the stage shows and make MUCH less money. They opted for the wider exposure and money over the quality of the songs. The thing is if you go to the stage show, much of the time, the audience is singing with the cast, so the vocals, although very good, didn't matter as much. In the movie, the inferior singing is more pronounced I think the popularity of the stage shows and movie helped with another resurgence for ABBA that put them over the top to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So at least there's that. --------------------

So at least there's that. By having stage shows and a movie it made sense to choose the big box office names and bring in crowds for the cinemas, while ABBA fans such as yourself could enjoy a more fulfilling performance in the theater. And if the outcome got ABBA their well-deserved spot in the Hall of Fame, then I'd say it was successful in all means P.S.They also cast Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried, but I'm not sure how popular they were at the time. -------------------- Thank you, Tusk :D |

P.S.They also cast Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried, but I'm not sure how popular they were at the time. Firth is a well respected actor and an Oscar winner...Amanda Seyfried...great eye candy ...really Brosnan was the only casting issue , just because he was not even a decent, average singer. I think it was his kids and family that convinced him to take the role, even though he was hesitant about his singing. --------------------
