The Grand Magnolias has returned to the iTunes Store one week after being pulled !!!
The album, which has made the Billboard Heatseekers chart and sold more than 3,000 digital copies in the past three weeks, was removed from iTunes shortly after the first American Idol finals episode aired. As a result, its sales dipped 60% from the previous week, when it sold nearly 2,000 copies. A spokeperson for the band says he has no explanation for the album's disappearance or its return. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/id...Chatter+Blog%29 -------------------- |

Posted this in GD too:
http://thegrandmagnolias.com/portfolio/new...-japan-benefit/ QUOTE Paul McDonald & The Grand Magnolias are releasing a brand new song called “New Orleans” on Tuesday March 29th. All proceeds for the release will go towards relief for the tragedy in Japan. Paul & the band has played in New Orleans many times & has always been one of our favorite places in the world. After the Katrina disaster, Paul wrote this song as an ode to the city. The Grand Magnolias finally recorded it in late 2010 & want to share it with you guys now & raise money for the disaster victims in Japan. It will be available at http://www.thepaulmcdonald.com & http://www.thegrandmagnolias.com -------------------- ![]() |

His album is doing great on itunes since "Tracks of My Tears" It's #10 on Rock ( It was #110 last week)and in between #50 -#80 on general album sales. All he needs to do is to perform great next week to keep the momentum. --------------------

I don't even think I can describe my love, bordering on obsession, with The Grand Mags. Their music is so good that in the past 6 weeks I've had it, I've listened to "American Dreams" and "Four Fifteen" close to 2000 times. Scary, I know. Their sound is so different and unique, I am just so glad I saw Paul's audition! Haha.
I had originally refused to watch Idol this season, but (this is for real) seeing Paul's audition changed my mind. During Hollywood week of Idol, with no sight of Paul since Nashville, I looked him up on Google and was taken to The Grand Magnolias. Thank goodness! I love "American Dreams", "Four Fifteen", "Please Believe Me", and "Fly Me To The Moon" a lot, although I love every song. From Hightide Blues I love "Let it Roll", "Poem", "Dreamin' Alone", and "Far From Home." Great songs, and great lyrics. Seriously. My absolute favorite line from all of his songs, which will be my senior quote, is from "American Dreams": Dreams don't come from anyone else, they're born from the beating deep inside your chest. Wow wow wow. Anybody else have a favorite lyric from The Grand Magnolias' songs? -------------------- |

His voice is so different in the Hightide Blues stuff. I love its quirkiness now but it's kinda interesting to hear his voice full-bodied

Ok, so...I can't deny that Paul is my least favorite left in the competition, but I really like everyone left, so even as my least favorite, I still really like him. I dunno if that made sense. At all.
Anyway, I just checked out The Grand Magnolia's material, and I am really impressed! Honestly, this is the type of music that I would listen to with or without Paul being on American Idol. American Dreams is a solid album! I'm quickly becomming a fan! -------------------- |
