David no longer with Jive Options

I think it is important for David to say something to reassure the fans. I don't think him ignoring this for awhile is a good idea. He doesn't even to have to go into specifics about his plans. Just something to ease the fans concerns that they are having right now.

i agree. he really needs to let the fans in and share his feelings with us. he's got to know we are concerned and upset. he should say something, anything, just so we know how he is doing!

To some point it makes me worry but in the meantime I believe it will be a fresh start for him, he needs to stay away from teen market that Jive and his management was trying to push him.

I'm totally concerned, most for the fact that he left WEG at same time Jive's dropped him. i mean if Jive drop David , but then David has an strong management behind him to help him to find his place, i will be totally cool .......but is not the case , since he dropped WEG too soon in my opinion, now who is giving him advise right now?, that stressing me a little .
BTW David needs to understand too that even when the artist is inactive or in vacances still needing a manager..........he can't still thinking that he can hire a management just for seasons, (that was a big mistake for the release of this album).........not until the decision is to take a long pause.....so we need to wait to see.

So, Jive has decided to not currently have a working relationship with David. It’s not the end of the world. I can tell you first hand that Jive was an incredible organization to work with. Their intentions with David were nothing but great, from my perception. I did not see them holding him back, or trying hard to not promote him. Why in the world would they do that? When a label signs an artist, if the artist does well the label does well, and vice versa. They are all on the same page trying to make things work so they all make money so they can continue to put amazing music in our lives. It takes an insane amount of money to promote an artist and to keep the train rolling, and at the end of the day, we all have to realize this is a business. I don’t know the details on how they came to the decision to release David, but if it wasn’t working for everyone then it makes sense that the best thing to do was to end the relationship. I think that is fair for everyone involved.

Justin Bieber gets them pageviews, and they don't want to attract hate from what is honestly the scariest armed force of fangirls in the world.

Also, I didn't see that article as particularly antagonistic (except of Jeff, but that's kind of a running reference), just matter-of-fact.

Honestly, and I know you guys might not like this, but I think David needs to take a few years to figure himself out before coming back with new music- music based from experience, not on how happy of a person he is.

Anyway, regarding the bold, I agree that it would be the best thing to do artistically, but realistically many of his remaining fans would have moved on by then. It'll be a steeper up-hill battle.

I don't like how Jive and WEG handled David's departure from the label. Last CD notwithstanding, David has been pretty good to them. Would it have killed Jive to give David some time to get something lined up so his press release responding to being dropped can be "David leaving Jive but joining label X" or "David doing mini tour in Asia" or "David writing new songs". Instead, WEG very unprofessional discloses it on Twitter and Jive confirms the next day. Good employers tend to give departing employees an opportunity to spin the departure to make them look good. Strange that Jive and WEG denied David that opportunity.

he owns FOD and knew the Archuletas before David was on Idol. He also worked on CFTH arranging some of the songs.
