I make fun of Santorum because of the focus the social issues play whenever he's around. I don't really think he's that bad a guy.

Mitt Romney barely winning a primary in his home state is like Charlie Sheen barely winning a primary in a Hooters. Sure, it’s a win, but the fact that it was close is more than embarrassing—it’s mortifying.

Romney won Arizona and he won Michigan. He won the delegates, but he certainly has not won the hearts of his party’s conservative base. According to CNN’s exit poll, he lost those who describe themselves as “very conservative” by 14 percent. He lost pro-lifers by 9 percent. He lost white evangelicals by 16 percent. And the only income group he won a majority of was those who earn more than $200,000 a year.

Bad as that is, the news from the moderate middle is worse. Romney’s transparent—and largely unsuccessful—pandering to the kook right has deeply damaged him among the swing voters who will ultimately pick our next president. The latest Washington Post–ABC News poll shows Romney with a dangerously low favorable rating of just 29 percent. (President Obama’s is 49 percent.) The Pew poll reports that by a margin of 61–29, voters say Romney does not understand the needs of people like you. And in the latest CNN poll, 65 percent of voters say Romney’s policies favor the rich.

Rick Santorum snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. He insulted the memory of JFK and accused President Obama of following a “false theology.” He attacked public schools and said those who want to send their children to college are snobs. And of course, he attacked contraception. When you attack sex, college, and JFK, you’re really limiting your pool of potential voters.

I can see how Democrats would want Santorum because Obama is VERY likely to beat him. Heck, he's pretty likely to go on and beat Romney too- but my thing is that what if it BACKFIRES and Santorum actually has a chance...wouldn't everyone feel like idiots!!?!?! It just scares me thinking that Santorum could come that close!

North Dakota is a caucus state so a Santorum win or even a Paul win I would say is more likely then a Romney one.

Also You forgot Alaska. Which has a two week long caucus

Its pretty sad how the Republicans have shot themselves in the foot. Their number one candidate is as far away removed from real, middle class American concerns as you could possibly get. Just read his comments if you need examples. Then you got Santorum who goes way overboard with his "Good ol boy Christian philosophy" he focuses more on Christian issues than anything else! Then you got have Gingrich who has less morals than a crack addict! Is this really who Republican importants think Americans will vote for ? Really?

It is especially sad for the republicans because they had a chance to beat Obama given the fact that he hasnt been able to hold true to a lot of his promises. (Not that he's done a horrible job, I think he's done alright given the circumstances of all of Washington countering him at every move) I might have voted for Paul but he has no chance as it seems like the only chance a conesrvative has to win is by catering to the ultra-religous and the bitter senior citizens.

What were you referring to when you said Dems outraised Republicans? I think when you take all things together, Repubs pretty much always outraise Dems.

That's why it scared Republicans so much when Obama turned out to be such a huge fundraiser in 2008.

Doesn't matter now that outside groups and people can spend limitless money.

I will literally be shocked if Dems every catch up.
