Has anyone attempted to recreate the Wizarding World of Harry Potter's Butterbeer?
I want to make it for my family on Thanksgiving. I know there are a ton of recipes out there but I'm never sure which one to choose - which one would be closest to the original. Any suggestions? --------------------

My friends and I made it once. I can't remember which recipe we used, we found it on the internet. We put in some kind of alcohol (I forget which) and then I think something like cream soda or butterscotch. It tasted very sweet. It was so sweet we only drank a little and then didn't want anymore. So try not to make it too sweet if you don't like that. Sorry my post isn't much help.

I use butterscotch schnapps with my creme soda. The kind I use is Dekuyper buttershots. I however, like things really sweet so it didn't bother me. I think most people would find it too sweet though. So maybe you could try spiced rum or something like that to add to take off some of the sweetness...I have seen recipes that involve rum. If you're looking for something without alcohol I have no idea what to try.

I personally love it. However, I realize that most people don't have quite as big of a sweet tooth as me and will find it way too sweet. I know others who think it's too sweet too. So I wouldn't suggest putting a lot in your drink like I would to anyone else.
