I had not heard of this:

-- Animated Special Featuring Music by "American Idol" Allison Iraheta: Mattel will develop a 30-minute animated special with music from Allison Iraheta, season eight "American Idol" star, whose pop-goth style is a natural fit for the brand. Iraheta's songs "Scars" and "Friday I'll Be Over You" touch on the challenges of "fitting in," a recurring theme within the Monster High property. The special is set to air this fall on a variety of mediums including online, broadcast and mobile. (Fall 2010)

A newer article with short clip. The clip is from the Monster High show... not the fall special in which allison is slated to be featured.

"Mattel has called on well-known music video directors, choreographers and producers, as well as American Idol Allison Iraheta, who is slated to create music for an animated special debuting this fall."

I find the use of the word "create" interesting. Hope it is true.

You know, I don't really see this as something Allison would want to be connected to. Doesn't not seem like it fits her and may only hold her back. Time will tell.

I am extremely curious as to what she would "create" for the special if in fact she does get to create something new for it. I am even hoping she gets a character with her likeness and voice. Cartoon Monster Allison!!

I wouldn't put too much faith on that statement, I had seen another report saying they would use her songs Scars and FIBOU, so I'm not sure she'll be creating any music.

I also agree that this is NOT what Allison should be doing right now. She'll be 19 in no time and it's time to cut ties with anything kiddie-like, she's very obviously NOT a kid and lets face it, her entire vibe isn't exactly kid friendly either and she shouldn't be forced to keep things 'clean & family friendly' at this point.

It's a new thing, we'll see. It might be re-aired many times so it's a good thing, but I seriously don't know what Jive was smoking by trying to market Allison to kids. She is so obviously NOT a kid oriented artist.

and to think I grew up on all those wonderful Hanna Barbera cartoons, which were funny and innocent. Scooby Doo was about as scary as they ever got, no stick thin body issues, fashion disasters or relationship problems in any of my stuff sorcerer.gif ...and here we are all wading thru this to get our Allison fix haha.gif Thanks for holding up the fort Lula flowers.gif Hope it tweaks the music sensibilities in some of the teenies who watch this tho, and at least she's out there.
