Former AP English student for two years and soon-to-be college freshman, I'm looking for any sort of "brain candy" book this summer!
Something to lounge around and read on the beach or at the pool. Anything that does not need any sort of analyzing or comparison done to it. Something light and read for enjoyment. I LOVE Sarah Dessen and any other "teen drama/romance" type of books. Any suggestions?! This post has been edited by TayTayFanForever: Jul 5th 2010, 12:50 AM -------------------- |

Books by Susan Colasanti. I've read "Take Me There" and "When It Happens" and loved both! They were cute romantic comedies and the dialogue is seriously how teenagers talk
Also, I love "Flipped" by Wendelin Van Draanen, although I think it's aimed for younger teenagers, it's still adorable "Brain Candy" books are my favorite ones to read and Sarah Dessen is my fave -------------------- 12: Candice, Angie | 11: Skylar, Joshua | 10: Haley, Paul, Casey, James | 9: what

Great brain candy? Try Peter Guber's "Tell To Win".
Some background : Peter Guber, Chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group, UCLA Professor, and owner and co-executive chairman of the Golden State Warriors has been a force in the entertainment industry for over thirty years. Peter has told memorable stories in the films he has personally produced or executive produced, including Rain Man, Batman, The Color Purple, Gorillas In The Mist, and Flashdance which have resonated with audiences all over the world, earning over three billion dollars worldwide and garnering more than 50 Academy Award nominations. In “Tell To Win,” he provides individuals with an invaluable skill set – the power to tell emotionally resonant stories to persuade, motivate, excite and incite others. To validate the power of telling purposeful stories, Guber includes in this book a remarkably diverse number of "voices" – master tellers with whom he's shared experiences including Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise, and Kiss’ Gene Simmons. The marketing team I work for recently started campaigning for this book and I am looking forward to reading it. A cool article on "Tell to Win" on NY Times.com "TELL TO WIN gives great insight into why good story telling skills are essential for a successful leader. It's both an engaging read and a great practical guide on how to listen, prepare and marshal facts to tell the right kind of story to the right audience." — ROBERT A. IGER, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company I am here on behalf of the "Tell to Win" marketing team. Head on over to the Tell to Win site and order the #1 Best Seller on Amazon and Barnes & Noble! -------------------- |
