OK, so I checked out the venue at omnimid-west.com, and... not sure what to think. I'm still shocked that they are going to the 4 th largest city in Ohio and a very small venue. Does this seem strange? or geographically does it make sense along the tour route (as opposed to say Cincinnati, Akron, Columbus etc.).

The venue is definitely GA, does it hold around 2000?

Well, I was sure surprised - I thought Adam would book the Huntington, our brand new 8000-seat arena! The Omni used to be a bowling alley, is pretty small and like you said, definitely GA.

I decided not to go because the floor is all one level, so if you're short like me, unless you're in the first few rows you probably won't see much more of Adam than the top of his head. I'm also slightly claustrophobic, and the tales of concertgoers being packed so tightly they can't even move makes me more than a little nervous about safety.

So, on one hand, picking such a tiny venue seems weird - but on the other, he's playing several other venues that aren't more than an hour or two away, so maybe he just threw this one in for fun.

You know, I think almost all the venues Adam has booked are around the 2,000 mark, at least the ones I've checked into. Wichita, Evansville, Indianapolis, and of course the first three he's played/playing. I think they deliberately went for the small venues for whatever reason. I'm going to revel in the chance to see him this close as opposed to an arena or stadium, because that is what is in store for BB the *next* time he tours!

Adam's management team made a calculated decision to showcase him and raise the buzz level. Almost all new entertainers (Idols or not) start out touring as an opening act for someone bigger. IMHO, 19E realizes what they have with our BB is something very special (duh! We knew that from "Mama I just killled a man").
They made a decision to let him showcase his own tour...in his own way...and they are probably fronting a lot more $$$ then they would have if he were booked as an opening act. After all, Adam has some pretty extravagant taste.!!!

So, keeping that in mind, the very worst thing that could have happened would have been for ticket sales to be slow and for venues to have a lot of empty seats (Yes, yes..I know that WE all know that he can fill 10,000 seat stadiums..but 19E is looking at building a star and protecting their investment.)

By booking smaller venues and selling them all out the buzz for Adam, not only with fans and prospective fans, but in the music industry in general reaches a very high level. This can be nothing but good for BB. Having screaming packed venues also raises Adam's confidence. We may think he is invincible...but remember that this is his first SOLO tour and he is not only the star, but the entire show concept was his. If it were to not be received well it would be quite a blow.

I give 19 all kinds of credit for recognizing all these things and doing what is right for Adam's career. Believe me, it won't be long before we will have to buy tickets in huge venues that will keep us further away from him. We willl be wishing for the days when we could crowd the stage & touch him!

So...all you Skanks going tonight...touch away for all of us!!!
