My favorite??? When he sings A Change Is Gonna Come in the feathers and the tight, tight, tight, tight pants with the special zipper.

My favorite pre-Idol performance. He was so pissed when he sang that, and so defiant, it was an unbelievable performance.

And I loved his "outfit", wild Adam at his best w00t.gif

Don't understand why Adam was so hung upon his weight. I have not seen 1 picture where he looks obese. Yes, He is VERY slender now and was maybe carrying a little excess weight during Idol. BUT he IS a big boy, over 6 foot, and lots of the kids I know who play competitive sports are way in excess of 15 stone and are NOT porkers, just muscle boys. Brad Pitt and George Clooney are apparently officially defined as overwieght!!!

I think it is sad that weight obsession has now reached boys as well as girls. UK boy models are now painfully thin, scrawny and very, very, very young. Fortunately most boys have little interest in fashion and are more into sport and/or sex, drugs and rock and roll!!!

My guess is that picture was taken after he slimmed down post high school....Didn't he say he was that weight (180 lbs) in an interview after Idol?


He has said he weighed 240 lbs when he was a senior in high school.

ETA: Still a cutie at that weight!!

Somewhere in these threads is a recent post of someone in a video commenting on Adam's Idol run as "that pudgy Goth kid". And I recall one of the early "professional" singer critiques after Idol, mentioned that Ad tended to be broad in the hips, and he'd have to watch that.

When you are an entertainer, you probably take these things to heart - especially when trying to get hired.
