Andrew on another level, How the judges judge him Options

I'm not sure if the right word is "unfair." But I think that because Andrew was soooo good during the Hollywood round, the judges are judging him differently. It's like everything he'll do, whether great or good will never be as good as "Straight Up" for them. I mean, I get their point. But they should really get over that and move on.

Andrew's in a whole other level as the other contestants. His performances have been consistently good week after week. As much as I want to compare him with other contestants, I wont cause I don't want to be accused of bashing.

It just frustrates me how the judges can't seem to appreciate his talent because of their hangover with Straight Up.

So far this year I think the judges have sucked. This is a fact with hardcore evidence to support it too.

I really liked the performances so far he done on Idol, and I think hes underraetd around IDF

I agree. They really need to take him off of the pedestal, it's only going to disappoint them if they keep holding him that high up.

The judges do need to take him off that pedestal. He's clearly been consistent while some other who have made top 12 haven't been.

And it is sad to see not that many people digging him anymore on IDF. He does have a strong fanbase though. I have over 17,000 hits on my site and it's not all coming from IDF so I'm glad there are people out there that appreciate him as much as we do.

for the 17,000 hits. I think IDF is just a teeny weeny percent in Andrew's fanbase. I mean, if he's been performing good for the couple of weeks with the judges' "disappointing" comments and he keeps getting through... it just proves that America believes in his talent.

i agree. although i like that the judges hold him at a higher regard than a lot of them, i think this is just detrimental to his image to the viewers with the judges' negative comments. i'm just glad that a lot of his fans are internet based and more likely to vote and/or support him regardless of the place he finishes.

I don't even think that the judges have been giving him any sort of critical criticism. How is he suppose to take the judges advice when all they tell him is how disappointed they are that he hasn't been as good as he was in Hollywood.

It's like they just wait for Andrew. Unlike for the other contestants. It's like the say the same thing about Andrew all the time, I mean if they keep thinking about straight up, they'll just get caught up with up forever.

I totally agree with this. I think several of his performances have been stellar, but the judges don't seem to see that. I actually wish he could sing "Straight Up" on the show, but then they would criticize him for that.

It's kind of bullshit, and now the the people in the GD section are thinking the same thing that his performances havent been good.. Look I'll agree that maybe two final performances haven't been great, but in semifinals the performances have been good for the most part. You Give Me Something was good, Sugar We Going Down was also really good. Andrew needs to just to SING, like he did with Forever, and sing his butt off this week.

He need's to stop going uptempo, and singgg! cause we know he can sing.

Agreed. I think his lowest point was I Heard It Through The Grapevine but otherwise he's been pretty decent and consistent. I'm just really bothered that some people STILL in the competition are terrible singers when we all know Andrew can sing like it's nobody's business. This season has become a popularity contest, not a singing competition.
