Harpo hardly ever pays for ANYTHING. All those cars that Oprah was said to have given away were NOT paid for by her or Harpo. General Motors paid for the cars and gave them FREE to Oprah so Oprah could give them to her audience and look like the good guy and Oprah got the headlines of giving cars for free. I Love Oprah, but I do not like when she misrepresents the facts which she often does.

I think this appearance will be good for sales, but let's not expect too much. We often expect miracles only to be let down. He will get a boost for sure...just don't go thinking he's guaranteed to sell 100,000 copies overnight. A good example is Adam's album sales...he's on his way to gold, but that's not good enough for some b/c they expected him to be Platinum by beginning of Feb. Kris sold half of what Adam did but people seem to think that's ok b/c they had lower expectations for him, even though he won and should have the burden of higher sales expectations.

I agree. This will give him a boost definitely. How much of a boost, we can't say and I don't want people to get their hopes up only to have them dashed. So let's look at this more realistically.

I think the reasons for people to have high expectations of Adam is all the 'superstar' praises that the media and fans [I'm guilty of it too] state. No doubt he's feeling pressured. He's a relatively brand new artist in a genre that's female dominated. It's going to take time for him to get to Platinum. At the pace he's going at, he's doing excellent IMO. I actually had higher expectations for Kris since he won.
