There are a lot of interesting comments on this thread. A few thoughts. 1. Success in the recording business is about total revenue and profits -- not about single sales. Adam is having a very strong preorder for FYE -- only #2 to SuBo which is an aboration IMO. 2. RCA is known for putting a big push on a song for a couple of weeks before the album released. I expect to see some major moves next week. 3. We will not know what kind of start FYE had until the numbers come out next week, but I think a lot of sales occured on AO.com before the song was available on Amazon or iTunes. I'll wait for the numbers and for the promotion to start before I make any judgments on FYE [single]. 4. My bet is that Adam will be an artist who sells a lot of albums -- this is a great thing -- more album = more money. 5. Lead singles do not make money because it is very expensive to promote them. Adam is getting a ton of press and building awareness without spending this promotional money. Selling albums without weeks of radio promo investments means that Adam will generate more revenue and be more likely the generate a profit. Think about it a moment -- RCA has spent almost none of Adam's money on promoting the album -- Jive has poured a ton into promoting LLWD. RCA will start spending money and putting force behind Adam and FYE this week -- and it should be an efficient and effective effort. 6. Most successful recording artists make most of their money from touring. We should here something about Adam's tour in the next week or so. Also, don't forget the AMA performance is as much about selling Adam as a concert act as it is about selling Adam's recordings. Finally, I suggest relaxing and having some faith in Adam and in music buyers. They will buy FYE [single and album]. They will attend Adam Lambert concerts. They will buy Adam Lambert merchandise. And Adam is already becoming a real international star -- not just an AmIdol star. It won't happen in one day, but it will happen. Crossing my fingers for 2. I hope RCA didn't think this song would sell itself because it isn't going to. I realize Jive has spent a lot of money promoting LLWD but imagine the situation they'd be in if they hadn't. The song would be dead and buried. Now with promo it's working it's way back up the charts. At the rate it's rising and the rate FYE is falling Kris is going to pass Adam on itunes soon. --------------------

I suspect there will be a noticeable rise in sales and spins of FYE after Adam performs the song on AMA.

You seem to have no faith in RCA. I don't know why that comment of all comments would lead you to conclude that. I don't know how important these itunes numbers are to a label. I don't have blind faith in RCA or think they're infallible. I not going to assume they're doing a good job or a bad job. Only time will tell if they made sound decisions. --------------------

Sometimes I wish we could just be his label and A&R and promote him ourselves.
