Take this with a grain of salt, since its wiki after all:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Idol_(season_11) Kris is rumoured to be performing TVOL on next week's Top 9 results show. This makes sense since Haley performs tonight and her single was released on Tuesday so its Kris' turn next week to coincide with TVOL's release. --------------------

I hope he performs next week to introduce the song to the public and make it known that he has new music out. He needs a TV appearance to jumpstart the song since he has been out of the public eye for a long time. I don't mind an April appearance but my concern is that any further delay and the song will languish on itunes w/o any significant radioplay. The only other ideal time he should perform the song is when the stars align..by this I mean TVOL reaches top 10 on both HAC and CHR. With this scenario, an AI performace will give the song a huge boost in sales.

I totally agree with you. I don't think he has the luxury of time to delay any kind of TV appearance. If TVOL is not pomoted more broadly, the first week sales will be less than decent. His core fanbase is not huge and the radio spins are not something to depend on at this point. On the other hand, the song is good and Kris has been liked by a lot of people in genenral, so I believe AI apperance at the right moment will help him immensely.
