Are you still single, Adam Lambert?

You're currently touring in the States, how have your concerts been?
- Really great, people have been excited. I'm in Maryland right now and we're supposed to continue to Washington DC, it's six hours drive from here. It's really hot in here, btw, 38 degrees.

Last time you visited in Finland, fashion designer Mert Otsamo gave you a leather facemask. Have you got to use it?
- I remember that really well. I love that mask, I have it at home. I haven't used it in any appearance, yet. And I would like to say

You didn't win American Idol, you were runner-up. Still you're more popular than the winner. What's your secret?
- I don't know if I have any secret. I'm just me, hopefully people will notice it. I love pop music, I love performing. This is my passion I give my everything.

A year ago you told about your sexual orientation. Has openness changed your life?
- It wasn't a big thing for me to tell I'm homosexual. And it shouldn't be. The atmosphere isn't very positive for homosexuals in the States. I hope, through my openness, people would encourage themselves and be themselves.

Have you got any summer holiday, and if so, where will you vacation?
- I don't think I've got free time at all during this summer, I'll concentrate on my tour full time. I love exotic cocktails and lounge on the beach. Even though I'm from California I don't do surfing. Lounging on beach chair is my thing.

It's been a year since Michael Jackson passed away. How did you spend the day this year?
- When he passed away last year I was on American Idol tour. I was shocked by the news because his music had affected so many people. He was a big influence for me as well. He is the king of pop and no one else can take the title. There were a lot of tv shows aired on his death anniversary day. I respected his memory by watching them and listened to his songs.

You're also an actor. What would be the role of your dreams?
- Playing "Judas" in Jesus Christ Superstar. At some point in my career I could make some kind of movie and we've discussed about it.

Are you still single?
- Single, still. My situation is difficult because I'm on the road all the time so I wouldn't even have time for a new relationship. I'll have a bit more spare time in next year, possibly then something could happen...

Are you happy?
- I'm very happy now. We're doing a big tour, I'll perform for audience every night... this is all I love.

When will you come to Finland?
- Hopefully very soon. I know that the schedule for European tour is on plans right now, so we'll see when I'll come back.

Career: When Lambert was 19 years old he did a 10 month tour with Anita Mann Productions. Has performed in opera in Orange County, California. Was picked to the European production of Hair musical and American Brigadoon theater production. Has performed in musical the 10 commandments in Kodak theatre. Was runner-up in American Idol 2009.
