One thing:
was the track written for her, or is it a cover since I've heard hillary's version

It IS on the album. The title was changed to "Say Goodbye".

Hillary Lindsey is a songwriter so her version is a demo. It was written a while ago but pitched to Kat for the new record.

In the writing credits, the songwriters are the same for IWHSM and Say Goodbye so it's basically guaranteed to be the same. Plus, "Say goodbye" is said just as many times as "it won't hurt so much" on the song.
