So much for that breakaway... They got caught by the Peloton...
 But, Mark Cavendish wins Stage 10!   That's his third stage win in this Tour!  I'm still waiting for the Mark Cavendish/Tyler Farrar Rivlary to develop, though...  I'm a little surprised that nothing changed, as far as the General Classification goes...  Maybe the race can change on the hillier Stage 13...Cavendish has cut Thor Hushovd's lead down to six. The Manxman has made it clear that he is going for the stage wins and not the intermediate sprints (I agree with this strategy; you get more points and the glory with a stage win), so the competition wants that Green Jersey better take those six points at the "checkpoints" while they can, because trying to beat him in a sprint will be a challenge... I'm honestly not that surprised nothing happened today. It was a flat (by TdF standards) stage and the day after a rest day. Also, most of the climbers are saving their legs for the 2 cat 4 climbs tomorrow...who knows though. It was a sprinters day though, IMO. Cavs is without a doubt the fastest cyclist out there...he's modest too (if you saw Armstrong's pre-race video with Hincapie, Cavs, and Lance). --------------------

Great win by Cav. Exciting finish too. I started out not liking Team Columbia HTC at all and I still don't really but you can't help but not root for Cav. Think they're going to protest the radio again by taking it slow? My goodness they were going my pace for most of the race (well the peloton was) like what 16 mph, 17?. It's interesting to see the strategies though even if there's no GC changes.

Well, Leipheimer is out. Crashed with something like 3k to go yesterday and found out this morning he has a broken wrist and is getting surgery. Sad.

Time for a post on the Podium Girls:
USA Today - Women of the Tour deliver kisses, jerseys Apparently, in order to be one of the women on the podium, presenting the Jersey or Award to a cyclist, they may have to spend years in other roles before they reach the summit. Also, once they get the gig as a Podium Girl, their role isn't just to hand out Jerseys and kisses on the cheek - they also have to perform a bunch of hosting duties beforehand, such as hand newspapers to the journalists or dancing on the pre-race caravan - depending on which spnsor they work for. You know, George Hincapie is married to someone who worked as a Podium Girl when they first met... Oh, by the way, did you know that one of the current podium girls - Laura Antoine - is from the US (The Lou, to be exact)? She can be seen handing out the White Jersey; you can't miss her... In case you missed the feature Versus did on her yesterday, someone at Twisted Spoke posted a video. Hurry before Versus makes then take the video down! The Columbia logo on a Yellow Jersey? YES PLEASE!  George Hincapie is in a twelve-rider breakaway and is eight minutes ahead of the Peloton and former teammates Lance and Alberto - if certain people decide not to be Astanas, Hincapie could be in the lead by tonight! Of course, it's not like he's going to finish the Tour in Yellow, though - If that was the case, you'd see the contenders going haywire right now...  EDIT: Note the US Flags on his sleeve piping - as you may know, he was the United States Champion in 2006... EDIT #2: With 41km to go, AG2R is starting to do some work and they've cut the margin down to 7:44... A**es Get 2 Retain Is what AG2R should stand for right now, after they worked just to hold off George Hincapie in the GC. Hincapie should have one. Great guy from what I've heard. He deserved it. Did you all hear about the woman who was killed on the route today? Apparently they had to ride by her corpse...I'm assuming she was struck by one of the lead motorcycles (I know it was a motorcycle) so they couldn't move her. Just so sad.

CNN.com - Spectator killed in cycling's Tour de France I heard about it... May the sould of that female spectator Rest in Peace...  With Hincapie in second with the mountains coming up, should Team Columbia shift their focus to getting George in Yellow for the time being? Cycling News - Columbia criticises Garmin for chasing Hincapie

Great riding by Contador today. He seemed like the Lance of past...showed no emotion or pain and kept pushing it seemed like every few seconds he pushed more and more. Should be interesting to see what happens in the rest of the Alps.
