Eva hitting US radio? Options

American Eva fans, go rate Give Me The Music! It could potentially be heard on American radio!

Her song, Give Me The Music, is currently being rated on RateTheMusic, which is an American site that tests songs for radio play on American radio stations. You need an account to rate the songs.

RateTheMusic is location based. I assume that since you are from Canada, you are getting a different survey than me. "Give Me The Music" is being aimed toward the American market, so that's why we rated different songs.

I know, it would be great if GMTM becomes a hit. I hardly see Canadian artists that are mainly known in Canada work their way into the American market. I hope Eva does well here.

You have a point. However I should have clarified myself. I wasn't talking about Canadian artists in general. I was talking about pop artists that started out in the Canadian mainstream and never crossed the border until they gained success in Canada. I'm talking about major crossover success. Celine, Simple Plan, and Sarah M. were mainly local artists who later attained major crossover success. Like... many people know who they are, not just few select groups of people.

Hedley is not as successful in the US as they are in Canada. I think they have been dropped by their US label, Capitol because they are no longer listed on Capitol's website (correct me if I'm wrong). When they crossed over to America, they haven't gained the traction Simple Plan or any of the other succesful Canadian artists have. The typical person in Los Angeles, New York, or the backwoods of Florida wouldn't know who Hedley is unless they follow them.

As of Paul Brandt, I didn't know who he was until I googled him. He's not a pop/top 40-type artist so he doesn't fit the criteria I was referring to. But that's awesome that he started out in Canada and became successful in the Country world.

Daniel Powter and Shania Twain don't fit the criteria I was talking about either. Powter's song, "Bad Day" was first released in Europe and then it became successful everywhere else. Shania Twain started in the US and Canada at the same time.

Local Canadian artists who have yet to gain major crossover success in the US are Kreesha Turner (although her newest song has hit the US Billboard dance charts, I have yet to see her name on US Top 40/Hot 100/etc charts) and Shawn Desman (he has a song on the Honey soundtrack, the movie with Jessica Alba and Mekhi Phifer, but he hasn't appeared in the US Billboard/Top 40/Hot 100/etc charts).

But yes, I'm hoping Eva continues the trend of successful Canadian artists in general.

Just my two cents. I just wanted to get my point across.

But my brother lives in the same house as me and he got "Give Me The Music" only, so maybe you get the two survey's randomly. "Damned' would be a way better single then "Give Me The Music" anyway.

No. It will take a while for her songs to impact radio if the they just tested it recently. RateTheMusic tested David Archuleta's A Little Too Not Over You in October and the song will go to adds in January. So if Give Me The Music tested well on RateTheMusic, it won't go to adds until March or April at the most.

Hey, is there any news of Eva's music in the Us? I was just looking at the airplay chart and for Eva's label it said "Sony Music" but it used to say "Sony BMG Canada". So that got me thinking if her music is in the Us.
