I heard on Idol tonight that each week they will bring back former Idol contestants. I think Jennifer is a definite shoe in, I hope its just a matter of time. I'd lover to see her back on that stage.

Much I would LOVE to see Jennifer back on the idol stage, I think they were talking about brining back past Idol WINNERS. So I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Well Ryan said former Idols. There are currently 7 Idols winner with more than seven weeks of the show left so I doubt it will just be the winners. They did it last year and had more than just the winners and also they've already had people from season 7 on who didn't win so I don't se ewhy it would just be the winners.

Album Update
I'll start by saying with the album being released back in Sept 2008 Jennifer's Grammy winning Debut album still remains in the Top 50 list of the Billboard 200 Albums sitting at #45 with units this week at 11,000k units making sales in the U.S. as of now at 668,000k total. Also an estimated number of 859,000k sold worldwide. I would say sales for Jennifer are likely to increase more once the Tour starts at the end of this month with the first date in Albany NY, at the Palace Theater March 31st.


Second single "If This Isn't Love" sales are not IMO peaking like they should. Sales sit at 6,000, down 7 percent, 54,000 total. Probably I think my third favorite song from the album but I blame this as lack of airplay. I live in Atlanta and I only hear the song on 1 radio station with minimum airplay. Despite the sales The single is still making it's way up the Billboard R&B charts. "If This Isn't Love" sits at #13 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. Its also sits at #6 on the Hot Adult R&B Airplay Charts. Over in the UK it's at #61 this week on the Top 100 Singles charts.


According to Jennifer's Official Website in an effort to continue to promote the second single and the Tour Jennifer will be making her first appearance ever on the Ellen DeGeneres Show next Thursday March 26, 2009 at 4:00pm on NBC. She will be performing "If This Isn't Love" and I'm sure talking with Ellen about the upcoming Tour. I love the song and I'm sure will be another great performance as we saw on the Oprah show a couple of weeks back.

In case you were worried that we'd completely given up on lighter, more gentle choices, this week's offering from Jennifer Hudson should ease your mind.

Following the tragic loss of her mother, brother and cousin six months ago, the American Idol star makes a return this week with her new single 'If This Isn't Love'. It comes with no fewer than six different remixes, but we've opted for the straightforwardly-titled Fraser T. Smith Remix, which adds a bit of extra zest to the song without removing any of its understated charm.

Smith, a songwriter/producer who's worked with everyone from James Morrison to Tinchy Stryder, has carefully tinkered with the track's foundations, injecting some R&B adrenaline and a bit more of a beat. Thankfully, he's also chopped out the male screeching from the start of the original, which seemed bizarrely inappropriate in the first place. Random Jennifer Update

Courtesy on the YBF.com Jennifer was caught in LA this past Wednesday leaving a LA office with whats looks like to be a confidential movie script in her hands. It's been rumors that Jennifer is starring in a Tyler Perry film but no official word yet. Whatever the movie may be with our Oscar winner its sure to be a box office hit as all movies she's been in thus far has been. Interesting bit she was also named by BET as one of the Top 10 Black Actresses of All Time with a Lifetime gross of her films at $293,750,056 with "Sex and the City" being the highest at $152,647,258.

Album Sales Update
Jennifer's Grammy Winning album saw a a but of a decrease this week. Sitting at #102 on the Billboard 200 with a 9% decrease with 7000k sold this week making a total of 698,000k this week. Her albums still remains in the top 30 albums of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Charts sitting at #23 this week. Currently the deluxe version on iTunes sits at #52 on the Top Albums Chart. This I'm sure is due to her Idol appearance. I expect sales to see a big increase this coming week since they finally aired her anticipated Idol performance this past Wednesday. I'm sure it will put Jennifer in the 700k and with the tour and her GMA apperence after Jennifer will hopefully reach platinum status by the middle of the year. Estimated Worldwide sales for the album are currently 908,500k

Singles Status

"If This Isn't Love" saw a 2% decrease this week with 7000k sold bringing to a total of 81,000k. Some songs just don't click well but this update is minus the idol appearance so it could be better next week. On iTunes the single currently sits at #70 as of yesterday it was at #99 on the top songs of iTunes. The single currently sits at #11 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Charts and #2 on the Hot Adult R&B Airplay Charts. Again next week I expect better numbers.

I just found out that Jennifer is rumored to be playing the lead role in a biopic about Winnie Mandela.

Updated today (10/23/09) with news that Jennifer is nominated for Best Female R&B/Soul Artist and Record of the Year "Spotlight" in the Soul Train Music Awards, to be held on November 3rd.
