I was wondering how Ace's CD was doing on the charts, and I found this on Billboard.com. I'm glad it's doing well, considering it's an inde release!
PLAY THE ACE: Fifth season "American Idol" finalist Ace Young makes his first appearance on a Billboard chart this week, bowing at No. 160 on The Billboard 200 with his eponymous debut album on the Pazzo label. "Ace Young" is the highest new entry on Top Independent Albums at No. 20 and enters Top Heatseekers at No. 5. Young is the ninth top 10 finalist from season five to chart, making that year the most prolific in terms of number of charted Idols. The entire top nine from the fifth year has now impacted one or more Billboard charts. That's two more Idols than season three, with seven charted finalists. Young is the 35th "American Idol" contestant to appear on a Billboard chart. Here is a season-by-season breakdown: Season one: (five) Kelly Clarkson Justin Guarini Tamyra Gray R.J. Helton Jim Verraros Season two: (four) Ruben Studdard Clay Aiken Kimberley Locke Josh Gracin Season three: (seven) Fantasia Diana DeGarmo Jasmine Trias LaToya London George Huff John Stevens Jennifer Hudson Season four: (four) Carrie Underwood Bo Bice Constantine Maroulis Mario Vazquez Season five: (nine) Taylor Hicks Katharine McPhee Elliot Yamin Chris Daughtry Paris Bennett Kellie Pickler Ace Young Bucky Covington Mandisa Season six: (four) Jordin Sparks Blake Lewis Phil Stacey Chris Sligh Season seven: (two) David Cook David Archuleta That adds up to 34, but the total rises to 35 when you add in non-finalist William Hung, who went to No. 1 on Top Independent Albums with his debut CD. --------------------
