I know I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, Brisingr, when it comes out. Even though it's not the best writing, Paolini tells a good story, and Angela in particular is a great character. Anyone else read the books?

I read Eragon a LONG time ago, like when it first came out. It's sitting on my bookshelf and I'm thinking about reading it again. I don't remember much, so I can't agree/disagree about the writing, but I definitely give Paolini props for being 15 when he wrote/published Eragon.

I'm really looking forward to the next book. I watched the movie first and really liked it so I decided to read the books as well and I really like them as well, even though they are very different. When I was o the bookstore a few months ago I noticed that the last book is coming out in September or something, so I'm really looking forward to last one.

We had our midnight release for Brisingr at work tonight. There were about 10 people. Epic!
I have to re-read Eragon and read Eldest before I can tackle it. -------------------- thanks jess!

I was never that excited about Brisingr anyway - CP's interviews where he says that Brisingr was made longer and the series turned into a cycle because Eragon faces a moral quandary when he gets to the Ra'zac lair made me lose the little hope I had for the book. I'll read it eventually but I'll be reading the reviews first. Have fun with Eldest - pay particular attention to the dialogue. My brother and I once spent an evening reading out loud all the passages where we thought CP was being melodramatic or flat-out ridiculous. There were quite a few of them throughout the book. --------------------

Awesome. Apparently there's supposed to be a 4th book? One of my coworkers saw the last page of the book and it was like, "Book 4 is coming out soon" or something. -------------------- thanks jess!

Awesome. Apparently there's supposed to be a 4th book? One of my coworkers saw the last page of the book and it was like, "Book 4 is coming out soon" or something. Yep - it's a cycle now. And pretty unnecessary - large parts of Brisingr could have cut without losing much. How goes the reading of Eldest? I've read eragon and eldest, but haven't gotten brisinger. Who's read it?? If someone has read it, can you please tell me what happens??? There's a plot summary on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brisingr --------------------

How goes the reading of Eldest? I actually just started it a few days ago. I'm on page 245... I'm actually in suspense! lol. I'm enjoying myself. -------------------- thanks jess!

I heard the movie was ridiculously bad, and deviated a ton from the book. It did. They cut out so many scenes and characters and rearranged the plot. What was supposed to come first came later and vice versa. And Arya's suppose to be black-haired (if I'm not mistaken), not blonde. I read Eragon as a birthday present a few years ago. I wanted to read Eldest but there were other books coming, so, I put the Inheritance series aside for a while. Now I've just bought both Eldest and Brisingr last month and I'm hoping to read them before the Eldest movie comes out next year. -------------------- ![]() Sig by BeckylovesDavid. Cheng fangirl <3

I actually just started it a few days ago. I'm on page 245... I'm actually in suspense! lol. I'm enjoying myself. Hmmm, page 245? Was that where Queen Islanzadi makes them swear an oath and then Oromis and Glaedr appear before cutting back to Roran's journey? That's the only time I felt any suspense, heh. I just started Brisingr yesterday. Yeah, I hope you enjoy it. I haven't read it yet. This post has been edited by Sadora: Jan 16th 2009, 5:29 PM --------------------

Yeah, I hope you enjoy it. I haven't read it yet. lol Yeah, that might have been it. When they introduced Glaedr and Oromis I was definitely shocked. Brisingr was good... lots more twists and turns. But Eragon is really annoying with all of his ethics crap at times. -------------------- thanks jess!
