Okay, so I changed my mind. When she was arrested before Christmas again, I didn't feel bad for her at all, and said that was what she deserved for getting herself in trouble with drugs & alcohol.
After watching Celebrity Rehab (we're just getting it now in Canada, on MuchMoreMusic), I feel horribly sad for her. I wish her well, and hope she gets her life back together. She's a great talent, and it sucks to see her throw it all away because of addiction. --------------------  Forever My Idols: Nikki McKibbin. Kimberly Caldwell. Constantine Maroulis. Jason Castro. I know - she seemed so utterly lost and sad at times on that show. The good news is that she is reportedly doing well at her year of court-ordered rehab. Dr. Drew said on one of his recent radio programs that he is really pleased with her progress and is fairly confident she will maintain her sobriety once she is out again. I am hoping that is the case. I loved her on Season 4 - she was my favorite from the get go - and I'm still rooting for her. Celebrity Rehab, for all its detractors (mostly folks who haven't watched it), probably saved her life, albeit in a round about way.

She's made some bad choices and now she's paying the piper. Fame isn't all it's cracked up to be.

fame didnt have anything to do with it..shes said in a interview before what lead to the drug use

To add to what I said before...
Jessica was an alcoholic before ever going on AI; that's by both her own admission in an interview and the description of some folks who knew her before she was on AI. For example, one Tampa radio deejay has said she was sweet but a bigtime drinker before AI...and that was referring to back when she was about 17, maybe younger. Jessica has also said in an interview - after her first sentencing and just before her second arrest - that she wasn't a fallen idol because she was already "fallen" before she went on the show and that all the bad stuff that happened would have happened even if she had gotten a huge record contract. Dr. Drew has even commented on the AI connection, dismissing completely the idea that it had led to her problems...and he certainly knows more about it than we do, given that for every hour of CR that aired, there's about 500 hours of group sessions, one-on-ones, etc. that never aired. I will add here that way back during the initial Hollywood rounds of AI4, Jacob of Television Without Pity wrote about how troubled Jessica appeared to be in his recaps. I kind of sensed that too, but looking back on his recaps now, again written back when AI4 was just airing, it's really quite eerie how spot on Jacob was. I should have had him pick out some lottery numbers for me... --------------------
