Yes, indeed I have A LOT to say. It was the best experience ever. Recap and pictures and video after Idol results!

Okay, here's my long recap like I promised!

I got to Cleveland around 2:45. I picked up my friend Matt in Parma and then we made our way to Strongsville where Chris was going to be. We got there around 3:15, and the signing started at 3:30. Chris arrived on time and started signing autographs/taking pictures right away. We waited in line for about half an hour. I was getting antsy the closer we got to him and kept taking deep breaths and composed myself, telling myself not to freak out/stay silent when I got up to him.







Finally, it was my turn. I got up to him and was all like HEY CHRIS! He said hey, asked how I was and said that I was perky and happy. I told him that I drove 2 hours to see him, and skipped a class just so I could see him before my birthday, which is 2 weeks from today. He said that's awesome that I drove all that way with gas prices being as high as they are. I told him I did only because he's one of my favorites. He started to sign my Edy's poster that he was signing for everyone and asked how old I was going to be. I told him 20 and he signed my poster with "Happy 20th birthday, Nicole. Love, Chris Richardson." Then, he told me he was going to announce to the whole store that it's my birthday in a couple weeks. He started to stand up and I grabbed his arm and pulled him down and told him he better not. He said "Watch me!" and yes, he announced to everybody in line that my birthday is coming up. I was so embarrassed. Then, he sat down and sang happy birthday to me! It was so beautiful and personal. After that, I had asked him if he's gotten to watch any Idol this season and he said he caught an episode a few weeks ago. His favorite is David Cook and he thinks the 2 Davids will be in the finale. I told him I was going to be at the finale in May and he mocked me from earlier in our conversation and said "OMG, like no way!" He asked me when I was going and I told him May 19th (day before) til May 22nd (day after). He said he'd be there the same exact time and that maybe we'll be on the same flight. I told him that he was a dork and told him we probably wouldn't be. The line was getting a bit longer, so he told me we could take a picture real quick and talk more about LA later. He stood up from his chair and posed for a picture with me. I told him I didn't want to take a normal smiling one and asked him if we could do the Jordin heart hands. He said "Are you serious? It's Speezy's trademark! She'll kill me if she sees it." We ended up taking a heart hands picture, and then a normal picture. He gave me a hug and told me to stand back in line and we could talk LA once I come up again.





I stood back in line, but this time for about 40 minutes. There were about 6 people ahead of me when Chris was holding a younger boy, posing for a picture and he pointed me out and waved and smiled at me. Once I got up there again, he said something like "There you are again! Okay, let's talk LA." I told him I'd be at the performance show Tuesday and crowning Wednesday, and also the after party. He said we'd definitely have to hang out at the after party and reminisce. I asked him what he's been up to at home and he said he's been recording (with a CD coming out in September) and that his sister just had a baby girl last week. She ended up naming her Emma Lee. So cute! I showed Chris our picture of the heart hands from earlier and how he totally messed it up and he was laughing hysterically. He said something like "That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever done, let's take another picture." I told him that it's not the only thing he can't do, he can't spell Jordin's name right. I made fun of him for spelling it Jordan instead of Jordin. He asked me what I wanted to do for a picture this time, and I told him he doesn't want to know. He replied and something like, "Oh really now?" and winked and kinda laughed. He made me tell him what I was thinking, and yes I told him. I told him that I wanted to sit on his lap, with his arms around me kissing my cheek. He told me he couldn't do that because too many of the other ladies would get jealous and want the same picture. Instead he stood up, put his arm around me, let me wear his hat and made a funny face. At the time of the picture, I didn't know he was going to make a funny face so I was just smiling. The picture still came out really cute, though! After the picture, he went to grab his hat back and I kind of put my hand on it so he couldn't get it back. I asked him if I could keep it as a birthday gift from him and he told me he would, but it's one of his new favorite hats and that he'd buy me one and give it to me in LA. My friend Matt had asked Chris how he got to sing GITP with Jason Mraz last weekend in Virginia. He said that Jason spotted him and asked him if he wanted to perform with him, and of course he couldn't say no.



After that 2nd meeting, Chris pulled me in for another hug and told me to stick around because he was going to perform. He finally got through the line, pulled his chair in front of the table and got his guitar out. As he was tuning, I was like "Hey Chris." He replies with, "Yo what's up?" I asked him if I could request a few songs and he's like "go ahead." I asked him if he would perform "All Alone," "Geek In the Pink," "Apologize," and "What Hurts the Most." He laughed and said he would try to sing as many as he could. Finally, he was done tuning his guitar and said he was going to do a little medley. He started off with a song by Doxology (I forget what it's called), then performed All Alone. After All Alone, he thought he was done and I said "Geek In the Pink!" He was like "Oh yeah, I can stick around for one more. Does anybody know how it sounds?" I told him I did and started singing the beginning with him. It was lovely! After he was done performing his little medley, he hugged everybody goodbye. I was the last one in the line and he gave me a huge bear hug, almost picking me off the ground. He said he's excited to see me in LA next month and for me to have a wonderful birthday. He gave me one more hug and gave me 2 kisses on the cheek! Yeah, I pretty much died.
