I just read "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Piccoult. It's totally a chick book, but it was good. Terribly depressing, but good. tongue.gif

Yea, it was really good. It's about a school shooting and the aftermath and how the town deals with it. tongue.gif It's a downer, but it was a great read. yes.gif

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini. It's an amazing story, sad and uplifting at the same time...pretty humbling.

Ordinary People - Judith Guest. This one is a bit older but also very good.

In class we had to read the Kite Runner, it was wonderful.
I also loved Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and The Catcher in the Rye by J. D Salinger.

The Catcher in the Rye, as someone has already mentioned.

But my personal favourite book is "Dangerous Liaisons" by Choderlos de Laclos (made into a film, and a modernised one called Cruel Intentions).

Ugh, I reallyyyyy wanna read that. I've read 'The Tenth Circle' and 'My Sister's Keeper', and recommend both, by the way.

Another class in my grade read that for their novel study, and I really wanted to read that instead of 'The Outsiders' by S.E. Hinton. Don't recommend that. Ew.

'Looking For Alaska' by John Green is pretty amazing. It keeps you in good suspense. Though, there are some mature themes in there. The last half of the book is pretty sad, but it's a good read all around.
