I received and email from Kane at Hot99.5 with his repsonse to yesterday's treatment of Kat. They had not replied to my first email and so I sent them one today with some pics of the event. Seems like this was a planned assault on Kat from the beginning.

Typical Shock Jock behavior. very tired and very offensive. Sorry, but I did go off a bit here!

You have got to be kidding me? This is your response? Her plane was delayed a Red eye from LA and she was not able to be there in person but called in to fulfill her committment and so you decide to trash her? She could not have BEEN nicer on the phone to the insulting, agenda driven assault by an intern of all things. And I noticed you didn't forward your comments to me to your bosses either.

You have made it quite clear with this email that this was a planned assault on someone who has never done anything to deserve that kind of treatment. My god you are worse than Ally because you feel this was somehow justified! I tried to be respectful to someone who obviously didn't return that courtesy to Kat or to me. And then you quote an article in the Post that has nothing to do with your disrespectful and insulting treatment of a very charming and talented young woman. It was simply a review of the event.

You my friend were simply trying that tired old Shock Jock threatment at someone else's expense and you guys fell flat on your face and looked like fools doing it. I guess insulting listeners is part of your agenda too.

Thanks for your reply.

Bill

Looks like it didn't go so well for her after the show either. Maybe she should have been nicer and been live as she promised.

Check out the article from Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...av=rss_politics

Cheers!

Subject: This is who you you were distrespectful to yesterday.

I just wanted to send you some pics of the woman who was treated so horribly yesterday by Ally and your morning staff. These are from yesterday's event in DC. I wasn't able to listen today to hear if you apologized for her horrendous behavior or that her internship was terminated which she deserved, or that the person who assigned her the interview was terminated. But it would have been nice if you replied to my email to show at least some small respect for your listeners, but I guess when you can't show respect to guests who have agreed to come on your show why would you respect your listeners.

Looking at how gorgeous, kind and funny Kat is, it is quite obvious that Ally has some real issues to deal with and why she acted so obnoxious. I work in the media and would never ever allow an intern with such a mean and nasty agenda to interview one of my guests. But I guess if you would allow this to happen, then the small act of kindness to reply to these emails would be beyond you.

Respectfully,

Bill

What a childish response.

Is his point that because the Washington Post was mildly negative about Katharine's appearance that he was therefore right to have treated her so badly before it?

He seems to think he can act with impunity. Maybe he can. Is there anything that Howard Stern could say or do on the air that would get him in any kind of trouble? The more hate mail this censored.gif piece of censored.gif gets the more his boss loves him.

Man, I'm less and less impressed with radio every day. It is just a different kind of wasteland from TV.

I say we all write letters of complaints to the leaders of the station. This is way out of hand and so uncalled for. thumbdown.gif

I know it's hard, but please just ignore the jerk. He's made up his mind nothing you can say can change it. The more attention people give this, then this stunt will be more successful in their eyes. This is really not a big deal in the scheme of things. It will be forgotten in a day or two.

I agree, but they wronged someone I care about. Strange, I know, because I have never met her and probably never will, but as most of us who come here know, we DO care about her in a way that is beyond regular fandom. Well for me at least. She is someone very special that matters to me and when people that matter to me are wronged, the father in me get's very protective. I just felt that his true colors and agenda needed to be posted for all of Kat's fans to see is all. But you are right they did this for attention and we are playing right into it. But, they went after my girl and I won't allow that to go unchallenged! angry.gif

It's prolly not the best thing to piss of the radio stations more... they want the fans to get angry... they like it. It gives them fodder to work off of.

From everything I have heard about TV and Radio, if something offends you, go to the sponsors of the show if you want to be most effective. Indicate that you will no longer buy their products as long as they continue to advertise on that show. Or station. Or network. haha.gif That is all the station owner cares about - money from advertisers. Period.

Exactly! If the fans just ignore it, it'll blow over and be forgotten in one day. Give them fodder, and it can live on indefinitely. It was rude but it was that bad, not like Don Imus bad.

A radio station in Philly today spent the whole show practically trashing a Bruce Willis interview they did...it reminded me of this situatuon because as the interview played...they gave commentary... rolleyes.gif

Radio DJ's are extremely self-important...and something must have stopped her from going in studio and I've noticed that they RARELY, if at all, have people go in studio...Kane is the same DJ who had the station put up bail money for Bobby Brown not too long ago in exchange for him coming in as a guest all week and Bobbyt never showed up!! laughing.gif ...that says something...
