It's still a touchdown isn't it?! I'm sure anyone who watches it will get the idea.

In answer to your question - I don't like him, plain and simple. I've never made THAT a secret.

Yes, as I've said before, we do get that but it does seem just a tad excessive.

I don't like a few of the idols either but I don't need to insult them constantly.

"Chains" should have been a touchdown for Paulini, the crowd went frickin crazy and it gave me chills. "Freeway Of Love" and "Eternal Flame" were amazing too.

Mark didn't invent the touchdown until Cosima sang When The War Is Over - AFTER Paulini sang Chains.

And he was so embarrassed about it afterwards getting teased he didn't want to do it again, and only did because Cosima's second performance on the RnB/Soul night (RESPECT) was in his opinion much better than her first (I Believe I Can Fly) - not so much because it was amazing (because it wasn't). And of course, when he became so moved by New York New York he got carried away again and touchdowned him. At THAT stage it was starting to become currency, but it was also at that stage that Paulini was eliminated from the competition.

So I guess we can say that Paulini pre-dated the touchdown. LOL!

Yeah I remember that Paulini performed first that night. But "in theory" "Chains" was a touchdown performance whether Mark says so or not.

Okay, I decided I wanted to make my own touchdown list because there were so many great performances that Mark didn't catch that really deserved touchdowns. Season 3 excluded though because I haven't seen it tongue.gif

Season One
"Eternal Flame"> Paulini Curuenavuli #1's Night
-This performance gave me chills, Paulini could sing the phone book and I'd be begging for more. Obviously before the invention of the touchdown but nonetheless: AMAZING

"What About Me?"> Shannon Noll #1's Night
-Shannon's signature, another that was done before the invention of the touchdown but it was a touchdown in it's own right, the crowd went insane and it was another spine tingling performance.

"When The War Is Over"> Cosima De Vito Australian Made Night
-The original touchdown, a flawless, awe inspiring performance by a woman who could probably outsing some of today's best vocalists.

"Chains"> Paulini Curuenavuli Australian Made Night
-Done right before Cosima's touchdown but a touchdown in it's own right. The crowd went nuts again and it's one of the best Idol performances I've ever seen from any country.

"Freeway Of Love"> Paulini Curuenavuli 80's Night
-Obviously Australia disagrees with me since they put her in the bottom three the next night but it was another amazing Paulini vocal.

"Respect"> Cosima De Vito R&B/Soul Night
-I know she catches flack for getting this one but you know as well as I do that even with her voice on the fritz, she was still pretty good.

"New York, New York"> Shannon Noll Big Band Night

"Climb Every Mountain"> Guy Sebastian 60's Night

Season Two
"Here's Where I Stand"> Casey Donovan Semis
-This performance showed what a force Casey was and made everyone stand up and take notice, I still listen to it today.

"Symphony Of Life"> Casey Donovan Australian Made Night
-How could Mark not give this a touchdown? It was AMAZING, quit sitting on your hands you greedy bastard and start handing more of those suckers out!

"You Weren't In Love With Me"> Courtney Murphy Australian Made Night
-An amazing, honest, simple vocal performance from Courtney

"Proud Mary"> Ricki-Lee Coulter 60's Night
-The perfect song for Ricki-Lee, her best performance, it deserved a touchdown

"Somebody To Love"> Casey Donovan 60's Night
-Another perfect performance from Casey that deserved more notice from the judges

"Everyone's A Winner"> Courtney Murphy Disco Night
-Another homerun for Courtney

"Turn The Beat Around"> Emelia Rusciano Disco Night
-I'm probably gonna catch hell for this but this performance was really really good, I would have given her a touchdown

"If I Can't Have You"> Hayley Jensen Disco Night
-Hayley's shining moment, the dress, the performance, the vocal= flawless!

"The Prayer"> Anthony Callea Contestant's Choice Night
-Mark would have had to be on crack not to give this a touchdown

"Special Ones"> Casey Donovan Contestant's Choice Night
-OUTSTANDING, chill inducing

"Constant Craving"> Chanel Cole Contestant's Choice Night
-This was an amazing performance, Chanel's voice sounding great and it rivals KD Lang's version in my book

"Yesterday"> Hayley Jensen The Beatles Night
-One of the only TRULY good performances on Beatles Night, great vocal

"Oh Sherrie"> Courtney Murphy 80's Night
-This song was perfect for Courtney's voice

"Beautiful"> Casey Donovan R&B/Soul Night
-This performance made me feel beautiful tongue.gif

"Why Don't You Do Right"> Casey Donovan Big Band Night
-Love this song and loved the way Casey sang it

"Don't Get Around Much Anymore"> Courtney Murphy Big Band Night

"Nature Boy"> Hayley Jensen Big Band Night
-Complemented Hayley's voice very well

"Bridge Over Troubled Water"> Anthony Callea 70's Night
-Another homerun for Mr. Callea

"You're So Vain"> Casey Donovan 70's Night
-I loved Casey's unique delivery, she made it more angry and angsty

"Somebody To Love"> Courtney Murphy 70's Night
-Another Courtney masterpiece

"Hello"> Casey Donovan Finale
-Had the judges commented that night, this would have definitely been a touchdown

"Take Me As I Am"> Casey Donovan Finale
-I really think that this is the song and performance that won Casey the competition, it would have been a touchdown too

There ya go! (I'm a little Casey biased but I tried to cover everyone who did really well)

The touchdown lost a ton of respect when it was given to Lee for 'Eye Of The Tiger' or whatever it was!!

Thinking about all of the performers and performancs that did not receive one (Paulini, Ricki-Lee etc.) and to give it to something that bad!!@

In my opinion, Paulini's 'Chains', Ricki-Lee's 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough' and Paulini's 'Somewhere' are some of the most deserving performances to not receive one..

Paulini never got a Touchdown per se but she got standing ovations from the judges for Chains and Freeway of Love and since these performances were before the touchdown became common, you could say that they were equivelent to a touchdown.
