Maybe she does, they just don't show it to us. It's not integral to the story that she have friends in her level so they don't waste time showing it but I don't find it outside the realm of possibility that she is around them when she isn't on screen.

I haven't seen the last episode yet but I know what happened at the end. I love the show and everything but the calamities that these doctors have to live through are just getting ridiculous. Izzie is lucky she got out because she's probably had so much less to deal with in the past several years. I just wish Shonda would realize that a season finale does not need to involve someone's life being in danger. I wish she would just go back to focusing on the characters and their cases instead of thinking up more over-the-top situations to put these people through.
