Hawaii American Idol Jasmine Trias may album na, magkakaroon pa ng pelikula sa Pilipinas

Last week pa namin nabalitaan na nasa Pilipinas ang Pinay na maging third placer sa 3rd season ng hit na hit sa buong mundo na American Idol na si Jasmine Trias. Pero, kahapon ng tanghali lang namin siya nakatsikahan.

Sabi niya, nagbakasyon muna siya at nilibot niya ang ilang magagandang lugar sa Pilipinas na kinasabikan niyang gawin noon pa mang or-dinaryong girl pa lang siya sa bansang kanyang kinalakihan, sa Hawaii.

“This is the chance that I was really waiting for to visit the places in my homeland, the Philippines, that I longed to see,” wika ni Jasmine.

Kaya naman daw pagdating niya two weeks ago from the US, talagang ginalugad niya ang mga lugar sa Pilipinas na noon pa niya gustong makita.

“I am very thankful to the Universal Records, Philippines for giving me this opportunity, tovisit my very own country,” aniya pa.

Bilang pagkakilala kasi sa karangalang ibinigay ni Jasmine sa Pilipinas nang ma-nalo siya sa 3rd season ng American Idol singing contest, kinontrata siya ng Universal Records para maging recording artist. At ang first album niya titled Jasmine Trias ay mabibili na sa record bars nationwide.

Magkakaroon ng promo blitz si Jasmine for her album sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Metro Manila. On Sept. 16, 6:00 p.m. ay mapapanood siyang mag-perform sa Podium; on Sept. 17, 5:00 p.m. ay nasa SM Bacoor siya; and on Sept. 18, 5:00 p.m. she will perform at SM North EDSA. Maliban sa matatawag na free concert ni Jasmine, magkakaroon pa rin siya ng autograph signing.

By the way, mabilan sa recording sa sariling bansa, nabanggit niya kimuha na rin siya ng isang malaking local film outfit para mag bida sa pelikula.

“According to the producer, we will start shooting next year,” aniya.

Pero, nang tanungin namin kung sino ang gusto nizyang maging leadingman for her first movie in the Philippines, ngumiti lang si Jasmine at nagsabing “secret.” Ang ipinagdiinan niya, gusto niyang pagbidahang pelikula ay horror.

“I’m afraid to watch horror movies, but I want to play a role in a horror movie,” sabi niya.

Among the outstanding cuts in her album Excuses which has been charted No. 1 on Wave 89.1 FM, Kung Paano composed by consistent hitmaker Vehnee Saturno, If I Ever See Heaven Again na sinulat ng composer ng US singing superstar na si Dianne Warren, DJ Don’t Quit, What You Do to Me, pop classic Once Again na inawit ni Jasmine with South Border, etc.

Articles on Jasmine appear in the September 15-21 edition of PinoyToday USA (only available in Northern California) and the September 16-22 edition of The Fil-Am Weekly. Interestingly, both articles are very similar.
* Jasmine on her visit to the Philippines: "This is the chance that I was really waiting for to visit the places in my homeland, the Philippines, that I longed to see."
* When asked who she wants as her leadingman for her first movie in the Philippines, Jasmine only smiled and said it was a "secret."
Thanks to Jen and my mom for this info!

Both papers use almost the same wording and they use the same picture! That's how similar they are!
