Ultimate Rocker Idol 3: Final 5 Perform, Theme: Hits From Your Home Country Options

Last time, on Ultimate Rocker Idol 3, your votes sent home Norway's Margaret Berger. Will fellow Norwegian Kjartan Salvesen be able to make it another week despite landing in the bottom 3 almost every week? Will Canada's Jacob Hoggard continue to draw in votes despite criticism from the judges? Your votes decide!

As always, our judges: Alicja Janosz, Chris Carrabba, and Elvis Costello, are here to critique the contestants. Audio clips, when available, are also supplied.

Tonight the contestants will be singing songs from their home countries. First up tonight, singing "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby," here's Australia's Marty Worrall!

Marty Worrall: "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby"

ALICJA: After your past three performances that was a letdown to tell you the truth. That performance was average at best.
CHRIS: Song choice was not on your side this week. I hate to say this, but that wasn’t very good. You were trying way too hard this week, and as a result, sounded cheesy.
ELVIS: Replace ‘baby’ with ‘vocals’ and that describes your performance perfectly. That was the worst we have seen from you in quite some time. That was horrible.

Next, singing "Born To Be Wild," here's Canada's Jacob Hoggard!

Jacob Hoggard: "Born To Be Wild"

ALICJA: You know exactly how to cater to your fanbase. You brought everything you have to the table tonight. Jacob is back! That was rockin!
CHRIS: It was a bit of a safe and predictable song choice, but it was nevertheless your best performance to date. Good job.
ELVIS: I’m going to have to disagree with you. I thought it was horrendous. *Audience Boos.* The problem with you is that, to me, you’re inconsistent. Performance skills can only take you so far, and in this stage of the competition, you don’t stack up vocally with the rest of the competition. But the audience loves you, and they’re the ones who matter. I’m sure they will love your performance. I didn’t. Sorry.

With Tina Arena's "Symphony Of Life," here's Australia's Casey Donovan!

Casey Donovan: "Symphony Of Life"

ALICJA: I just have to do this again! *Stands up and claps.* That was AMAZING! Way to represent the chicks in this competition!
CHRIS: Last week we were questioning just how better you could get. But you just keep raising the bar for yourself and the other competitors. You’re the last girl standing, but you have been singing circles around the guys for weeks so far.
ELVIS: Listening once again to last week’s performance I do have to say that you weren’t as good as we were saying. That said, I doubt I will be saying this again next week, because that truly was amazing, Casey, you are a pro, and we’re proud of you.

Bo Bice: "Remedy"

ALICJA: You have managed to recoup after last week’s musical catastrophe. If that means delivering a performance similar to everything else you have done, then so be it. I still enjoyed it, and I think the audience will too.
CHRIS: You proved that you have trouble singing outside the box last week, so it wasn’t necessarily a good move to rush right back into your box this week. You need to prove that you can handle sounds outside the Southern Rock spectrum.
ELVIS: All I can really say about that performance was that it was good. It was in tune and you performed it well, but you were missing the sparkle needed to make it a brilliant performance. It just seemed as if you were going through the motions, hoping to make it to the next week. At this stage of the competition, you need to bring it.

Finishing off the night is Norway's Kjartan Salvesen with "Bare I Natt"

Kjartan Salvesen: "Bare I Natt"

ALICJA: You’re at a disadvantage this week having to sing a song in a language other than English. Luckily for you, you picked a fun, up-tempo song that everyone can enjoy regardless of the language barrier. Vocally, it wasn’t your best, but you still tried your best tonight.
CHRIS: I agree with Alicja. Vocally you were off-key for about 70% of the performance, but there was something about that performance that was enjoyable and memorable.
ELVIS: Kjartan, you’re still hanging on by a thread. Unfortunately, this will probably be the week where that thread finally snaps. I’m sorry, but that wasn’t good enough.
