   i know these pictures are disturbing but believe me there were much worse ones. i cried for the first time in over a year finding these. what are your opinions on it? before you say, please go here im outraged that so called "developed" countries still allow this, they should ban it. there are other alternatives such as human skin cell cloning.  animal testing can also be very unreliable, humans are so different from animals and are bodies are NOT the same. for example, penicillin kills guinea pigs. Draize Eye Irritancy Test: Rabbits are used because they have no tear ducts, which would shed tears to wash out or dilute the chemicals (and ease the pain.) The rabbits heads are immobilized in stocks so that they cannot rub their eyes. Their eyes are held open by the use of metal clips. As the rabbits writhe in pain, concentrated solutions of expected irritants are dripped into their eyes. The tests can last for weeks. After the tests, the rabbits are killed. This, so that we can have new improved cosmetics and household cleaners. Recently a bill was considered which would ban this hideous test, replacing it with approved non-animal testing methods; Companies such as Proctor and Gamble lobbied successfully to defeat it. The public must learn that animal testing today does not make the welfare of the animals a top priority, and is not all about curing cancer and AIDS or saving kids. We can help by making this clear to those in the media and asking them to spread the truth about current testing and the good news about the non-animal tests becoming available. For those who argue that lives have been saved by testing on animals, I think Jane Goodall has the most poignant response. When confronted by a woman who said that her daughter was only alive thanks to experimental work on dogs she told the woman that her own mother was alive thanks to a pig's valve in her heart. She said that she felt incredibly grateful to that pig. She asked the woman, "Don't you feel grateful to the dogs who saved your daughter? Yeah, I'm against it but I'm not really aware what products are tested on animals so I will NOT support those.
 Uhmm and yeah someone in my speech class did a speec on this topic and it was just so sad that people actually perform these tasks. --------------------
