Nya needs to pick something she can sink her teeth into or else she’s toast. She probably will be regardless but she definitely has the chops to pull off a strong rock performance. For Will, I’d suggest “Hurt” by Johnny Cash. I’d even suggest it to McKenna who I think could do a beautiful cover of it.

I just don’t think we needed three gospel singers in the competition who were gonna shout “Hallelujah!” at the end of every performance. It was impactful when Roman did it on Sunday because they had just played the intro package of his dad talking about Roman surviving the coma. Odell and Quintavious were better singers than Roman but I think he was the most believable as far as “getting caught up in the spirit.” I loved Odell when he was singing songs like “Bring It On Home To Me.” Why he decided to start singing outdated Bruno Mars songs and gospel tunes, I’m not sure, but it didn’t work for him. As for the country guys, let’s face it. Triston is gonna be around a long time because he’s a sweet, likable fifteen-year-old who loves his mom, wears a cowboy hat, and sings country songs well. That’s like being a cross between David Archuleta and Scotty McCreery on steroids lol. Will is just a very solid authentic country singer-songwriter and country music is a very popular genre whether it’s your cup of tea or not. Blake Shelton would’ve crapped his pants to have Will on his team on The Voice.

Hmm Mia could have a shot.

Gone are the days of Idol where the big voiced belters dominated the votes. They’ve been gone since Season 7, honestly. Country and singer-songwriters are going to get the majority of the votes nowadays. Especially now that the show gets 5 million viewers instead of 25 million.

Maybe she and Jean Ann can open up a new funeral home.

To be fair, we did have Season 6 where three out of the final four were black powerhouse females. Season 3 also had Jennifer, LaToya and Fantasia who ended up splitting the votes that one infamous week. We’ve got so much country now because the audience is mostly southern white people. Though I really only consider Will, Triston, and Mia as the country singers. Jack, Kaibrienne, and McKenna are more singer-songwriters IMO.

Ajii was making the same mistake Lucy Love made last year tonight. You can’t come out with that angry look on your face. Kennedy was kinda doing the same thing. You’ve gotta have that happy humble attitude like Kayko and Jack have, even more so if you’re a woman. I thought Ajii was overrated so I’m not sad to see him go.

Yeah she seems like a lot of drama honestly. Production might have even had a talk with her about it. I remember Fantasia saying producers met with her about being a young, unmarried mom and the controversy around that. Kennedy’s allegations are much worse but still.

Yup, it’s gonna be interesting to see who gets the farthest out of the three girls. I think Jack will beat Kayko. Kayko gives me male Catie Turner vibes.

I agree to an extent. I don’t mind a genre being represented by several people but how many worship leaders does one show need? Like Luke said, you could see them all trying to outdo each other with the praising of the Lord at the end of the performances. It’s like when Season 4 had two blonde country female singers with Carrie and Jessica. Even though Jessica was good, she couldn’t touch Carrie and quickly got eliminated.

I think the producers wanted Kennedy gone after that scandal came out lol. She looked mad as hell the entire episode. Also, Nya is one of the most beautiful women to ever be on this show.

I’m fine with the decisions. We really only needed one of Odell, Roman, and Quintavious. I would’ve chosen Odell but oh well. Katy must want some Jordan eggplant lol. I’m surprised he made it over Ajii.

She probably could’ve made the Top 20 with that song choice. Why did she have to sing Cee Lo in Hawaii?
