  1. I'd say Season 11, the greatest season of all time. For the ABC era, Season 19 for the relatively deep field compared to other ABC seasons.
  2. 1. Candice Glover (The queen) 20. Lee DeWyze (Terrible trash contestant who never should have made it out of Hollywood)
  3. That's why the judges/producers went super OTT for HunterGirl last might because Leah reprising Heal had a 10% chance of beating Noah, whereas HunterGirl had 0% chance no matter what she did. Luke warning about vote splitting between the country contestants, Lionel blatantly lying about HunterGirl winning the Springsteen round, Katy calling Flowers "Flop" instead of Flowers, HunterGirl's emotional homecoming package contrasted with Leah's package that had no mention of her depression, and adding more filler after HunterGirl's second performance to give people more time to vote for HunterGirl after her pimp spot performance were all attempts to put their thumbs on the scale, and even then, I bet that HunterGirl was just barely second. Noah has probably lead the votes at every second of the competition until after the Carrie round last week when Leah was ahead, leading to them barely saying anything about Separate Ways. Noah probably led the votes by the end of the night, but Leah being ahead at any point gave them jitters.
  4. In no order: Maddie Poppe Jeremiah Harmon Leah Marlene
  5. I'm relieved for Leah that she has no shot at singing for the title because now there's no chance that she'll end up in Maddie or Just Sam's position with a label that didn't want her.
  6. My bad for not assuming that the producers would have Luke warn the country voters about votesplitting, have Lionel lie about HunterGirl winning Round 1 and then giving HunterGirl the most emotional homecoming package by far, removing any mention of depression from Leah's homecoming package, and then EXTENDING the length of the time before voting ends just for HunterGirl so that she could be pushed into the Top 2 spot over Leah. Noah will rout HunterGirl, and it won't even be close. The judges feared that Leah reprising Heal could beat Noah, but nothing HunterGirl does will move the needle against Noah.
  7. This theme is meant to benefit Noah because a lot of Bruce Springsteen's songs touch on working class issues. Noah is also performing with Melissa Etheridge, who is a Springsteen expert who probably coached him on what song to sing and how to perform it.
  8. I don't think HunterGirl has any shot of winning. Noah is the favourite, and Leah might have a shot if she does really well however unlikely that is.
  9. I'm already prepared for Leah to get bussed with similar comments she got last week in that they avoid praising her performance because Leah probably lead the votes for the first time in the competition after the Carrie round solos. The judges doing their best to avoid talking about Separate Ways was ridiculous. Of course, Noah probably led the votes after he performed his second solo, but Leah made them sweat at first. I fully expect Katy to bus Leah during Firework by not allowing Leah to shine on her parts whereas Melissa Etheridge and Luke will allow Noah and HunterGirl to shine on their duets.
  10. Nigel was the only showrunner of American Idol who had any idea what he was doing, so it's no surprise that this was the way it ended up. He was the competent one.
  11. When I look at some of the critiques the judges have given Maddie and Leah, it is clear that much like with Maddie, Leah has not been skating by every week and is even doing well enough in votes that the judges sometimes decide to use her performances to hype up the season by talking highly of the group instead of giving her praise. Lionel on Maddie's God Only Knows: I'm watching you all grow, but tonight, I want the people out there in the audience to understand the only way we're going to get these kids to the front... you've got to vote because the talent is here. *Filler.* And I want those people out there to vote you guys-vote because that's the only way we're gonna get this talent through. As you can see, Lionel does talk mostly about Maddie, but he also refers to the group when he says "these kids" and "vote you guys" because he knows Maddie is safe and that he can safely use this moment to talk up the group in general. Katy on Leah's Heal: What happened to you guys? I mean, we leave you for a couple of nights... Luke: You guys are going above and beyond anything I ever could have imagined. Lionel: This class right here is the strongest class ever. As can be seen again, they all try to big up the group, which shows they know that Leah does not need their assistance to advance further. Luke on Separate Ways: I mean, there... y'all are going after each other now. I mean this is... Katy: This might be a little cutthroat. Luke: Yeah, this is getting... This is-This is happening. It's happening right now in front of us. Katy: I see dangerous. This is a game. Lionel: What I was thinking about... how graceful can they all be together. This is a slugfest, okay? You all are now-I mean tit for tat. This is getting ready to get very interesting. All of the judges here are talking up the competition, which shows Leah is in no danger of going home whatsoever and that the judges were trying to make it appear as though it wasn't obvious that it would be Fritz and Nicolina going home. Katy even saying that she sees something dangerous and that it's a game perhaps shows she knows that Leah is following the David Cook playbook given how David C. revealed what his strategy for the entire season was after he won his season, and surely a lot of Idol superfans who want to go far have educated themselves on that strategy. Those were meta remarks from Katy. These critiques do not suggest that Leah needs much help voting-wise. She is a front runner in her own right even if Noah ends up winning. I fully expect HunterGirl to end up third on finale night, and while Noah is certainly the favourite to win, Leah is not without a shot at the title. It certainly won't be HunterGirl that wins. She's the only one I give a 0% shot of becoming the next American Idol, especially with the narrative that she has been performing all her life being contrasted with Noah's situation. Even though Leah has been performing for most of her life as well, that has not been heavily emphasized in the edit like it has been with HunterGirl, and Leah's been edited moreso as having grown up around music all her life, which bodes well for Leah even if that is leading up to a 2nd place finish. Casuals may buy HunterGirl as being the favourite to win, but HunterGirl has to be the fakest favourite to win American Idol I have ever seen. I see her as being an easy 3rd placer.
  12. Casuals think HunterGirl, not Noah, is the favourite. Really, it's only hardcore fans who understand that Noah is the real favourite to win the title. While Leah is an underdog, Noah being perceived as having limited performing experience is a part of his edit and being, which is a classic American Idol winner's edit.
  13. I believe that HunterGirl is the Lauren Alaina of the season that has no chance to win. People overwhelmingly chose Scotty over Lauren, and they'll probably do the same here unless voters become truly touched by the story behind Red Bird. I don't see how Hunter's story about working so hard ever since she was a kid will resonate when Noah is there as a contrast to that. I fully expect HunterGirl to end up third based on her edit. The judges mentioning her Platinum ticket over and over also enforces the narrative that HunterGirl has not grown throughout the competition and makes her seem like the favourite to win when that's actually Noah, which can get fans to vote for somebody they're more likely to perceive as an underdog. At least Leah has a growth story in that she's grown out of being somewhat manic at times during her performances compared to her more restrained performances now and that the judges repeatedly say that she's grown (mostly Katy), but it'll still be very tough to beat Noah, who they're editing as if he's a single father even though he's a married man. I feel the Springsteen theme was deliberately chosen so that Noah could sing something that working class people easily relate to. He has the best edit and is edited as though the show discovered him like old school American Idol winners. I believe it would take a lot of things going wrong for Noah and a lot going right for Leah for an upset to happen, and even if Leah churned out the best finale performance night of any contestant in history, she'd probably still be the underdog against Noah. @Gmm99Melissa Etheridge, not HunterGirl, requested to sing with Noah.
  14. I'm pretty sure Leah likes women. Otherwise, she would have changed the lyrics when she sang Happy Together.
