I don't like RCA ED but I can understand why he is getting annoyed by some rabid Adam fans. I don't know who created that "The USA wants another Adam Lambert single " thread, but no rational person would take a delusional claim like that seriously. There is a fine line between being supportive and being CRAY CRAY. Definitely. And refusing to look outside the "fandom bubble" at the bigger picture. Too many times Fandom (of all shapes and sizes) are so 24/7 immersed in their favourite person/movie/thing that they forget that a very good portion of the world hasn't even HEARD of said person/thing, let alone shares the same passion for it as they do. Passion is all well and good until it becomes irrational and ignorant of the true state of things (ex: Twilight fandom. I kid you not, I seriously once read: "That Wolfman movie is totally a Twilight ripoff! I mean that guy turns into a WOLF! And how dare they try to turn werewolves into monsters!!" as well as a statement that read: "Who cares what Stephen King says about Twilight? I mean, it's not like any of his books have been turned into movies like Stephanie Meyer's!!" ... Rest of the world: *facepalm*). I understand why the RCA comments would have upset some fans, and I certainly noticed his facts were a little off when it came to WWFM's chart position which was worrying, but the rest of his statements about the singles held some truth. The FYE single tanked in the grand scheme of the outside world, no matter how much we fans liked the song and listen to it all day (I do. *shifty eyes*), and if a fan can't stand hearing that because "omg adam is god!!1!.", they need to take a serious chill pill instead of trying to get the dude who said it fired. Fanbases can be a serious detriment to their favourite thing having any chance of being taken seriously, and Idol fan bases are especially bad for it because of our extra investment in the Idol's career (not to mention our pro-ballot stuffing techniques, refined over years of rabid phone dialing practice. Now honestly, RCA dude probably shouldn't start announcing things if said things are subject to change so quickly, especially when he knows he's dealing with people hungry for exactly what he's offering because dang that's like dangling a a carrot and tearing it away... but again, sometimes out-of-anyone's-control things happen. I think the key here is to take what he says with a grain of salt as far as timelines go, and don't flip out on him as an individual when it doesn't go according to plan, since we have no idea what's truly going on behind the scenes. I know I've certainly learned to do that being a fan of Kalan Porter, whose favourite word is "soon" (translation: "Who the eff knows, cause I sure don't!!" -------------------- ![]() |

OK guys maybe we need to take a collective breath. I'm the FIRST to say that Ed isn't the end all and be all of knowing whats going on with Adam. His snark used to be somewhat endearing but has now become condescending and rude. BUT we aren't going to get him fired lol- thats probably going to the "entitled" spectrum of fandom So therefore we need to try and understand what RCA's strategy is here. Even though most of the time I am scratching my head at their decisions such as no US release of SW, or a DL of an acoustic EP when there was a TON of publicity for Adam to actually get a full acoustic release out to stores BUT maybe there is a larger picture here we are missing? I'm no marketing genius, but the record industry is in a time of turmoil and change. Everyone is trying to find new ways of using social media to sell their product, and there's no right way as it is still being created. Perhaps we should give RCA a chance? I'd like to think that they have Adam's back, that they KNOW he's a superstar in the making and that they WANT to give him all of the best opportunities? So far, Sony global has really shown us that they believe in him. So lets not overly freak out yet, hang on, its gonna be an interesting 6 months coming up I echoed those sentiments yesterday Crunkette and Madam. We (the fans) need to relax a bit huh? -------------------- ![]() |

I echoed those sentiments yesterday Crunkette and Madam. We (the fans) need to relax a bit huh? Fans in general do, doesn't matter what it's about. I think the internet at fandom's fingertips has become an amazing tool of accessibility and news, but at the same time, created a whole new breed of fan in the past few years that is really hard to reign in because we (I include myself in this) soak up every bit of news no matter how mundane, because it interests us, and we're getting so used to it, it feeds that sense of entitlement that so many fandoms are famous for. Goes with anything, I guess. We get spoiled for so long, we forget what it was like before the magic of the internet, and for some crazy reason... we all panic when our beloved artist/actor/author doesn't tweet us once a week. And yet... some things never change... ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

I'm not really counting on anything until we hear an official announcement from Sony or RCA. My guess is it'll be the Vevo footage and not the whole show, maybe about four or five songs. But right now, as far as I know, there has been *no* official word that a tour DVD is coming out at all. Unless I missed it...
And Adam's still on his international tour, yet RCA ED says he's approving video tracks and such. Has Adam said *anything* about a tour DVD? Has anyone mentioned it except for Ed? I'm not sure where Adam's getting the time to review and approve video cuts between performing, resting, and hopping flights. It'll be so terrific to put a thing like that into the DVR and see Adam on the TV again! And I suppose they'll have the DVD in all formats, instead of just the American one...
